You live in new york.

Pay the first shady character you see $10.

I'm sure you will get out in no time;)

OK stupid response coming ...

If the car is infront of your house, go get the spare key? :dunno:
You have a spare right?

You might try a j-bar if you can get to a local gas station easily enough - most keep one on hand. Some car companies keep serial numbers of the keys so if you have the documents from when you bought the car they may be able to print up a spare set. Phone toyota and find out if they can print a set of keys if you give them your vin or the key serial.

If not, phone a tow truck, they'll have a j-bar and if they can't get that to work, its either locksmith time or Zorro's suggestion :D

Thanks for your answers.

Now:

1. phone a tow truck. Why should I phone a tow truck? Like I said in my previous message, the car is parked in front of the house.

2. Pay the first shady character you see $10. Excellent idea, but I live in a residential area, so it will be a little difficult to find a “shady character” But, I will definitively try.

3. You have a spare [key] right? Shoot! How the heck I didn't think about it? NO, I don't have a spare key.

4. its probably locked in his house. Very funny!

5. Then how did he get on the internet to POST? Even more funny!

6. laptop with wifi?, its not completely impossible. It’s getting funnier and funnier.

AND I STILL DON’T HAVE A SOLUTION.

Stop making funn and if you can help me, help me, if you can’t, don’t post.

Thank you.

It's a little hard to help you when you are 5000km away.

people have given you options:

1. call a tow truck (not cheap but will get you in your car)
2. smash your window(cheap but ineffiecent)
3.J-bar(easy and free but could take time to find one)

figure it out and get a damn spare.

phone a towtruck, towtrucks have the tools needed to unlock the car for you.

1) Call a Two Truck
2) If you have a bunch of spare time on your hands, get yourself to a Toyota dealership armed with the VIN number and your ID, and they can probably cut you a new one.

3) If it has power locks, stick a coat hanger down between the weather stripping and the window and try to hook the rod that controls the door lock
4) Find a Crowbar and pry the door (towards the top) open a little bit, find yourself a GIANT elastic band, and slip it into the car through the gap you just made by prying (and keeping the crowbar there) and get it around the lock and pull it up

last two options are *NOT RECOMMENDED* as you will probably scratch the shit out of your car

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a J-bar? Where can I find one?

Dood how old are you? If you are old enough and smart enough *cough* to drive, you should have the common sense to know what do do in a situation like this. The tow truck idea has NOTHING to do with towing....they will unlock it for a fee...or

1) Get a coat hanger and fiddle with it for an hour yourself unsuccessfully

or

2) Get a rock.... then get a new window.

Sheesh!

Just called Toyota of Manhattan and they told me that for $15 they will make a new key.

I'll go tomorrow morning.

Hopefully everything will be fine.

Thanks again for your posts.

Get your phone book and call a locksmith.

They'll probably charge you 50 bucks or something.

Calling a Tow truck is a bad idea. They MIGHT be able to do it, but why bother? Call a pro.

I've seen Tow truck guys just mash the side rubber using slim jims. Scratch paint etc.

Locksmith will do it better, for probably cheaper and faster too.

Are you not part of AAA?? They do it for free the first couple of times you lock your keys in the car! Takes them maybe and hour to show up and then another minute to open your doors.

Good luck

Here's a crazy little suggestion. I'm sure it's been mentioned 30 times or so.

CALL A LOCKSMITH OR TOWTRUCK. Either one will be able to open your car. Some common sense here wouldn't kill ya.

Not to tow it to un-lock it

numb nuts, you should always have a spare key:banghead: easiest way is to call a tow truck like everyone stated above. (They can pop the lock in 2sec)

Tow truck drivers usually have the tools to unlock vehicles. That is why people are telling you to phone a tow truck.

yeah i don't know why you wouldn't just call a tow truck.
people aren't suggesting that you get your car towed, but that the serviceman with the truck has the tools to unlock your car.
it has nothing to do with where your car is parked.

and that's it.
i can sorta see why you locked yourself out in the first place.
