Yes they did fall off the truck. My friend was in the dealer a few days back taking pictures with his phone then security escorted him out. What he was told is that they are going to be destroyed in a crusher and that a dodge rep will be on hand to make sure it happens, what a sad site.

why do they need to be destroyed by a crusher?? and why does a dodge rep need to be onsite?? im sure some parts are salvageable

yeah.. They don't need to be turned into pan cakes... You'd think they would just use the salvageable parts and stuff. At least the interior stuff.

its probably cheaper and easier to just make another one than it is to try to salvage parts.

It could be a requirement of the insurance policy - if the trucks are written off they might want them destroyed so a dealer can't profit off of a claim by getting the replacement value AND money from the sale of parts. Or it could be a Daimler Chrysler policy to ensure potentially damaged parts don't make their way into the service bays. :dunno:

Exactly. I'm pretty sure the viper engine is pretty hot on the aftermarket.

yeah...it is a DC policy...just because they don't want someone to buy the car and then be able to claim all the squeaks and rattles after it was repaired as warantee issues...
they used a couple trucks that had been dropped to film a train commercial a while back...put them on the tracks and ran em over with a train...it was cool...one of my friends was one of the camera men...

^ Bingo, i know if a train crashes, and it's full of Ferrari's the cars are written off and crushed even if there is not a dent on them. HUGE insurance policy, apparently there are huge graveyards at each station where all the things in the crash are kept until they can be destroyed. My buddies cousin is a conductor and see's porsches etc... there all the time just waiting to get demolished!

Its a shame they can't even grab the engine and the rims.. it seems like an incredible waste.
