Good good .. so, before the Evo 9 ( or whatever )

Sti seems the best choice for under $50K plus taxes !

Will we get the Evo MR ?

I heard that the Evo in US now, even small front accident, will cost a lots to fix ! :dunno: is it truth ??

considering i have see it in person and there is 0 rebar to protect anything. It would basically end up that your FMIC will be needed to be replaced in a minor front end collision

Yes it is the truth, as stated above the FMIC, has no protection whatsoever...and the bumper cover, is just that, ther is lil to no structure so a lot fo things will end up needing replacement...and just to put a number out there...Outta curiousity for my Talon i priced out the EVO 8 FMIC and Mitsu here in Calgary wanted 1500 for just the core, no piping...and thats WITH my Calgary DSM Discount...

I believe that the EVO will be here at Platinum Mitsubishi late August/September.

Talk to Mike for more details.

i don't think car dealers are a reliable enough source

Agreed. The dealers don't have a clue. All the doom and gloom around Mitsu is exagerated. Dalmer Chrysler owns 37% and Mitsubishi Motors is just a small part of the overall Mitsubishi Companies. I highly doubt that they would pull the pin.

Remember, 20 years ago Chrysler was on its death bed, Nissan & Mazda were in trouble in the early 90's. It goes in cycles. Mistu just has to keep going in the direction of exciting cars like the EVO and hopefully the 4G Eclipse will come as promised and be just like the latest concept which is very slick. They are also bringing out a EVO jr. based on the japanese colt platform. AWD, 1.5L turbo @ 220 HP on a CRX-like wheelbase.

I'm curious what the Evo would sell for here in Canada. The Lancer itself is pretty damn cheap, so hopefully the Evo wouldn't be toooooo ridiculous. Maybe $40k?

I belive .. ( not sure ) almost every cars sells in US ( from dealership ) can bring to Canada ....

however insurance may be a problem, who will do insurance for you with a "reasonable" price ? :nut:

^^ yea but why would you want to buy a used and bagged evo if it costs as much as they STi brand new? plus they have some crazt rust issues behind the rear bumper.

Insurance isn't the problem, its registration. You can't register an EVO VIII in Canada. End of story!

Too bad .. a nice used EVO is around mid $20K in state .. say $25000 US, which is like $35000 plus shipping import tax, GST .. fee ... IF we can get it ..

no wonder why no MR-S in Canada ! they r so cheap in the State !
