Honda Accord Aero Deck

Saw an interesting piece of hardware on macleod trail today. Was a mid-80s bodystyle accord, but it was a 2 door wagon. Right hand drive to boot. Was an interesting looking little machine. Said Accord Aero Deck on the back and had some kanji characters on the right side of the hatch. Car had saskatchewan plates, wish I had my camera with me. Found some pictures on the net, it was pretty much this exact car right down the color.

Looks someone welded together a 80's Prelude front clip, and the back of an EF Civic.

Nice! I love this car! Too bad I never got to see this car in person, only in Honda (Japan) literature back in the 80s.

Very nice pics you've supplied too, as I haven't seen an ass-end shot of the car yet. This design came out well before the EF-Civic. It wasn't just sold in Japan only, as I understand it was available in Europe as well. The 2.0Si model pictured here had a DOHC 16v engine... hmm... wonder if it's the same engine as the 88-89 Prelude Si...

But, if you were given the choice, would you really wanna import this car into Canada? Or would you rather get some of the nicer Nissans (S13, R32, Cefiro)?
