I still cant figure it out.

I was one of the first people at the scene before the EMS/police/fire/etc arrived. I was on my way somewhere else when I saw this and stopped. Its sad when you have like 5 photographers there before any emergency people :) There was NO ONE in the black overturned blazer at that time, and if there was orginally, I have idea how he could have gotten out on his own. Everyone I talked to there thinks it was just parked on the side of the street and got nailed by the toyota. I dont see what the toyota could have done to do that though? Too bad I had to bail and couldnt stick around to find out more.

woah that's a brutal crash.
nice pics though, don't the authorities get pissed off when someone is taking pictures like that without authorization?

It's NOT a toyota. It's a Mazda Tribute and a Chevy Blazer.

Sucks to be them though.. must have gone pretty fast in order for that to happen.. and on 17th too.

. Ahh sorry your right. I thought it was a toyota logo for some reason. but your right...

don't the authorities get pissed off when someone is taking pictures like that without authorization? yup, but theres nothing they can do as long as you arent getting in their way. Everyones gotz to get paid! ;)

my thought exactly. SUVs are so much easier to flip in an accident...

isnt the speed limit on 17th like 50km/h.... for that type of accident to happen your lookin at excess of 90km/h +... looks like the jimmy rolled once or twice and there is no way that should happen at 50 km/h

That's one of the new concern of SUV.

They tip and roll easy but all the manufacturer cut cost and put up a week roof. When it roll like the Blazer, the 6 pillars cannot hold the 4000+ lb weight of the car and collapse.

This is proved to happen on most SUVs and even the latest F150.

It's ironic that most covertibles has better roll over protection than any truck/SUV will ever have.

From the pic, we know Mazda T-boned Blazer for sure but from which angle?
