Email for all customers, both dial up and High Speed is down throughout alberta, I'm guessing it wont be till mid afternoon until it is repaired.

I have telus problems too, my internet at home will drop at 19:30 and be down all nigt.. when I get up in the morning it's usually back, but it goes down again every night.

it's been doing this for about 6 weeks and whenever I make an apointment with telus the guy doesn't show or shows up 2 days late, and then can't find anything wrong! I cant see there being anything wrong with my end either, because it seems to be only at peak times it drops, and when it works it works perfect.. I don't get it..

Well I used to work for Shaw. And I have only had my Telus Business Acct down once in the last 7 months. Shaw was always down, internet and mail...
Atleast with Telus, I have a constant 2.0+ MBps connection
I support Telus. If they had TV as well, I would ditch SHAW completely...

The same thing happened to me with Shaw before but each time it goes down I would call them and complain saying that I pay for 24 hours of service not 12. They reimbursed me back a week and sometimes 2. It's not the money it's the principle. I made sure they knew that there is other choices out there.

I think it's dependant on the area which service "sucks" more. I've never had a problem with shaw's uptime. There are times when service is slow (once or twice a year), a quick complaint and the bandwidth hog in my community gets suspended.

I get 700kbit/sec download speeds and 120kbit/sec upload speeds consistently at both my houses.

Rage2 is right ever since I moved into my new house I've been having amazing speeds I figured it was because there are not that many households using Shaw in such a new area.

Telus's customer service really licks some balls, and licks them good. I called them before to get a price on how much it would cost to get an account with 5 IP addresses and I got forwarded to different people 7 times, 4 of which where back to the same department. Stupid phone call which should've only lasted as long as it would've taken to get an operator plus 30 seconds took over 45 minutes. :banghead: :banghead:

Benny, can you hook me up with a service appointment where the guy doesn't show up 2 days later when I'm at work?

...

The problem is the wording of "up to 4.0Mbps" - unless Telus change's their architure.

One begs to know how your suppose to see even 4 Mbps when your sharing a 5 mbps line with every Joe on the line?:dunno:

I'd look into nucleus...

Strange, my internet connection dies down late at night as well....
D'z Nuts, if the people at telus actually licked everyones balls really nice, there probably wouldnt be any complaints...:D

Telus sucks!!! I used to work at Shaw and I thought Shaw was awful. But Telus blows chunks big time.

Look into Nucleus.

Thanks for the info Benny, but I eventually got forwarded to someone who was able to find out (although it took much longer than anticipated) For future references, just exactly what are you capable of over at Telus?

Yeah, but then again, rarely is a ball licking ever a bad thing :D In fact, at Telus, they'll probably even pass you around between 7 people for 45 minutes!! Hahahaha!!
