Hi all,

My mercedes is skipping the first 40 seconds of every track on burnt discs. It works fine on originals bought from the store...and the burnt discs that i'm having problems with, works perfect on my other car.

Just wondering if you guys have any ideas which i can try or a certain brand which works for you.

I've put in about 4 different discs ranging from no-names to Maxells and all exhibit the same skipping.

Any ideas?

(This was originally posted in the General Car forum but i wanted to move it to the appropriate forum....sorry for the duplication)

Is it a new Benz?

You shouldn't be having problems, I've had the problem once but it was only with one brand of Cd's, maybe it's the program you're using to write the cd's.

Make sure the CD's are finalized. I had this problem for the longest time...

it might also make a difference if you burnt them as wav or mp3 format.

If it was in wav they just wouldn't play at all, Idratherbsidewayz is probably right, make sure you close the session at the end of a burn for them to play properly.

After you try everything above, try burning the cd as slow as possible. If you can, burn them at 1X. It may sound like a pain in the ace but it should solve your skipping problems.

Thanks
I'll try burning at 1x and using Roxio (currently using Nero)

The CD's are finalized ...They work fine on my other car.

If you end up buying a new deck , get MP3 (sony, jvc, etc..) it kicks ass. 150-200 Songs on one disk :)
