40th anniversary mustang... what are the specs on it?

So friends of my parents came over for dinner tonight and they were all excited from me cause i graduated from my sait program a few weeks back.

So he then tells me he's gonna take me to rent a 40th anniversary mustang gt convertible for a weekend..... he knows some people or whatever.

So what are the specs on them? and are they pretty quick :D

4.6L V8 in the Mach 1, 310HP @ 6000rpms 335ft/lbs torque.

4.6L V8 in the Cobra, ups the HP and torque with a supercharger to 390HP and 390ft/lbs. So quite damn fast depending on which one your going to drive.

The GT only has 260HP. I think you should convince him to let you get the Cobra.

at least the mustang looks like something.. the gto looks like a pile of ass.

the mach 1s themselves are fast enough.. even the GTs have some balls stock. hard pressed to find cobras.

I think you'll love the torque when you get to drive it, regardless of which model, but the GT will definitely set you back in your seat @ 302 lb.ft of torque down low. :clap:

hey guy the mach one is only 305 hp and it really isnt all that much better then the GT it is faster but the only mustang outa that group with much in the way of balls is the SVT cobra....but either one is fun for bein free fer a weekend....

one more thing...the guy is right about the GTO that car has ball...super fast too 5.7L 350hp v8...thats a motor boys also has 365 lb-ft of torque....sorry but that puts any mustang to shame...one other thing...its cheaper then an SVT also...but even if it was more fords blow anyways

Good link. Mach 1 vs. GTO shootout. Advantage goes to the Mach 1 even with 3 different drivers. Despite making less power, it makes up for it with less curb weight. The cobra would smoke the GTO.

Even if you think the magazine is biased, do a google search and you'll see the mach 1 and GTO are fairly similar depending on driver of course. The cobra is definitely faster.

oh yes i fergot your also comparing a GTO that weights 3725 sock to a mach 1 that weights 3469 stock...but the mach 1 has a manual and the GTO has an auto....and manuals are alot lighter then an auto so make both a stick and which will win? get my drift

I know I'm going to regret this but here goes. It's been shown to go like this assuming good drivers and a sea level track :

GTO = high - maybe mid 13's
Mustang GT = high 13's
Mach 1 = mid - low 13's
Cobra = shit kick all of them

Equal drivers, the GTO loses to all but the GT (maybe). Even if the GTO is a stick and the Mach 1 is a stick. The GTO is a cool car, but it's HEAVY, expensive and it's not available in Canada so that's about that.
