the full retail is not a good value for the car. See if they'll drop the price by oh....I dont know.....4 gs! The car is a decent platform, but in it's stock form, the suspension should be the first thing to mod. And the engine is very underpowered. It's not a good car to just buy and drive it stock, you'll want to......no need to mod it to be happy with it. If you have any questions about the car just pm me or post here again.

Stoch Is'nt that bad if you're comparing it to say base rsx or other civics''etc

I have one and It kicks ass on anyother civis
And I love compared to the similar priced Base Rsx i owned.

At least you get all options on the Sir

whereas the Base RSX doesn't even have ABS brakes.

I've seen a few rolling around with the OEM Kit in Riverbend, nice looking little car! Wonder how that shifter works? Is it weird since it's in the center?

jtsimaras
08-18-2004, 07:54 AM
It is awesome to shift with
I thought it would be so wierd at first
However after I test drove it---wow ---simple has hell---and smooth.
Kinda makes since I guess---close to the steering wheel--don't have far to move the hand. I guess this is the reason rally style cars have the same placement.
However, I heard some people hate it--possible they don't know how to drive--.

In addition this car has tonnnes of headroom---first car my 6'4" 250lb father-inlaw can drive besides domestic Boats.

Have fun:thumbsup:

I love my car (2003 Nighthawk Black EP3) I have it lowered with an eibach prokit and a type r kit with 17 inch Kong Heliums in bronze. It is really a great little car and we should create an alberta ep3 club :D

AWESOME I'M ALL FOR THE CLUB---LET ME KNOW IF YOUR STILL INTERESTED.---COULD I SEE A FEW PICS OF YOUR COOL CAR.

My wife loves the car to--it actually was her decision to buy it --i was a little reluctant at first.

wwaaaayyy underpowered! i honestly their nice cars, I LOVE THE SEATS, can't wait to get mine, but if your going to spend the money why not just buy a DC5 type S! and if you get it you better slam the b*tch because they tend to look like a CIVIC with a lift.

I love the car done up, but stock looks like poop!

thats just my .02!

i liked it...but i wouldnt buy it.

the shifter is a lot more natural as well that was the biggest selling point on the car for me.

Test drove one, didn't like it compared to the Old Sir, Pick up i thought was kinda weak, didn't feel that fast, handled like a pig, but then again it had crappy 195/60/15 tires on it..

Still would rather have the 99-00 Sir, but I must admit the Seats are way nicer in the new Sir, and the interior is better too.. PLus being made in the Uk is a plus, instead of Ohio..

Not a bad looking car,I would potentially choose it as a starter for a build up if I was dumping the s2K for a hobby car.

Just got mine last tuesday. It is a great car. I like it cause I can push it and not get too illegal.

It rides nice, and is a great comuter and kinda rare.

It is a bit slow, but I don't mind I have another car if I really want to go fast.

Other Civics are made in Alliston, Ontario, not Ohio.

It is not bad for pickup---because you are almost always guaranteed to get a good start as long as you put some beefier tries on.

I'm running 225-17's

I've being up agains RSX-S and being able to stay right on there ass unitl about 120 kms'

Not one I've raced has being able to lockup nicely---it's because you have to rev the snot--out of the RSX-S to get any torque---whereas the SIR has a direct more controllable hp--torque curve.

And I wonder why ppl say it is too exspensive

Jeepers a Civic SI-g---with crappy drums and everybody else has one---cost ya like 23500.

And crappy looking saturn ion redline is like 26000----mind you good hp---not sure about reliability or gas consumption.

Awesome Choice and It will keep growing on you.

Ever think that the SI-R isn't that good a deal, it's just that a Civic SI-g is overpriced? :D

Where do you think they Make the Coupe ? Assembled in Ohio.. Not Ontario, they make the 4 doors, and the El, there.

I highly doubt this.. The Type S would RIP you a new Ass hole.. Unless the driver can't drive/or wasn't really trying. Being right on there Ass is no where Near hanging with them.. it's called getting your ass kicked.

A closer comparision, would be a Base/ Priem Rsx Against the Sir, since they have the same engine. And the Base as aprox the same weight..

A 99-00 Sir, still beats the EP, even with it's higher low end torque, and being a 2.0L.... We all know that the Type S will rip a New ass hole again the Older Sir so i highly doubt you can hang with a Type S, ..

I started following right behind at the redlights as I could not be in the other lane---and yes I was on his ass The whole time----besides I know how the RSX-S drives---I had one---and I hated it---had to rev the living snot out if it---to get the torque.

And you gotta remember the track conditions have to be perfect for these High revving 4's to get a clean start---and the stock tires on the RSX-S suck compared to the ones I'm running---tires can make all the difference in the world---.

Have fun

It really doesn't take to long to get use too. It is actually quite natural, plus it is a great conversation starter.

no offense but the SIR's looked like a nissan quest minivan , and looked like the front pit off a plane. but i test drive them weeks ago and they are fast. but fast cars cost money. It will cost me about 33 grand w/o down payment. so I chose the SI $21400, just my 2cents

Agreed. My brother and I test drove a 2002 RSX TypeS and a 2004 Civic SiR back to back on Saturday and it isn't even close. The Civic was slower than the 2005 Lancer Ralliart we drove earlier let alone the RSX TypeS.

^ sounds like a pretty good deal since 99-00 SiRs some people still try to get 15-16 for them ;)

The wife just picked up a ep3 last friday, out of all the cars we test drove she's liked this one the best. It's also one of the easiest cars to modify unlike a mazda 3 or a ralliart lancer.

already put on 17" work emotions, h&r Springs, and installed a new deck yesterday as well. Lip kit and spoiler are on their way.

It's an 04 picked up for 26000 after tax. i like the 04's best compared to the 02-03's. especially now that the bolt pattern of the wheels are 5x114.3

RSX-S will destroy the SiR! No chance! End of story!

Freight is usually around $1K give or take so MSRP should be around $23500

Azncowboy
09-02-2004, 04:59 PM
about 900 for freight. i went to t&t honda...talk to a lady named donna...but with t&t they seem to fuck up the car really good..crackin the steering column and the bitch dropped her glasses on the side of the car and scratched the car. they're fixin it but..i feel that customer service wasn't that great.

they were a lot nicer near crowchild at northwest honda dealership. try them out.

pics up soon

tax i dunno lol
