Canadian cars rulled the rally this year!
2 996's a 360 and a Murcielago all from Ontario, were the fastest cars there.

We had a hard time on the run this year, We had troubles starting the NSx on the 2nd day.
It was stalling out at 100mph+, we lost a cap to the header sensors and had to find a all night Home Depot to get a couple of brass fittings.
Then the Nsx blew a tire, so one of the chase trucks picked him up.
We couldn't get a tire anywere, so we had the Tire Rack ship us one to Denver, then we took off the rim and it was cracked.
We tried to find someone to fix it but had no luck.
So he left the Nsx in Aspen, to be picked up later.

The first day I rode in a Murcielago (sp) the 2nd day in the Nsx.
The 3rd day in Dado's 550 hp M3, the 4th day I dove a Ferrari TR through Kanasas flat out 178mph.
The 5th day in a 993TT modifed to 600 hp.
on the 6th day rode in a yellow GT3, and had some fun with a 360 stradle.
The 7th day I rode in a 360 spyder, and a Dodge Hemi wagon.

When I was driving from KC to denver we hit hail, dust storms, wicked thunder storms, high winds, and tons of tumble weeds at 150mph+.

We had a track day in Topeka, and I rode in a M3 and we chased 2 F40's around the track for ten laps.

No tickets for me this year, or jail time.

Some other problems were.
Magusta blew a tire DNF.
Yellow viper out with steering problems.
Blue Corvette blown motor DNF.
Yellow GT3 blew a tire.
SL 55 blew a tire.
350z blew a tire
General Lee needed new wheel bearings.
Testerossa needed a new battery.
Prodrive SUV concept car was impounded by police, for no plates, no ins, no sn number.
996 broke a steering linkage, then he lost his clutch, and had to power shift the rest of the way.

993 hit a bird at 150+ shattered the windshield, got a new one installed and it was too small. Then he blew the motor on the track, when he missed a shift. He shipped the car to LA and installed a new motor, so he could finish the race.

Some of my pics.
http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286559073

The Enzo didn't make it on the run this year, the dealer in Denver started the car when it was cold a reved it up, it bent a few valves. They had to fly in a crew from Ferrari to pull the engine and fix it.
The owner of the Enzo has a 70+ car collection, he owns the S7 that joined us in Denver. He drove it hard and fast, until it started blowing oil all over the Ferraris behind him. They had to tow it to LA for repairs. DNF
Some one in Denver was driving a 959 on the street, in the rain and stoped to talk to us.
The Vector showed up at the end of the race for 2 hours, they slapped some stickers on it like it was in the race, but it only made it four blocks before it over heated.

Next year I want Tire Rack to sponsor my car, there were 11 people who had tire blow out. We went from cold weather to hot in a few hours, most people didn't check there psi and paid the price.

We got it bad in Kansass, the police gave us an escort out of town, then 3 hours later they were waiting for us everywhere.
8 people went to jail, most got out after paying 500 bucks.
One person spent 3 days there for avoiding the police he was going over180+.

At one point I was in the 500+ hp BMW M3, and we were in the lead when we had to pull over to rotate our tires.
When we pulled up to the Goodyear tire, 3 guy's came out and started going crazy shouting your the guys.
They had been listing to the police scanner and heard that we had been clocked at 184mph. The police were setting up a road block 2 miles ahead for us.
Good thing we got off!

They couldn't rotate our tires because our rims were to big, so they sent us around the road block to another tire shop.
They took pics with us and the car, and made us sign autographs.
I was a rock star for a day.LOL

Day 1

I showed up to the USS Intrepid. were we were starting the race, there were a few Canadian's there standing around waiting for there cars to show up.
There was a semi truck there that had the Eleanor and a ford mustang on it ready to go. At first glance they looked like some one had done a nice restoration job on them. But when they fired them up and backed it of the truck, you could tell they mean bossiness. They were hand built from the ground up. Big brakes, lowered, custom frame work, tuned engine, etc.
This was not my fathers Oldsmobile if you know what I mean. For 100.000 to 150.000 you can have one custom built to your own specs. The guys who built these works of art, were the coolest guys on the rally,

I was checking out the Eleanor gone in 60 second's car, when a few big.....no.....HUGE body guards brush me aside. I looked over and there was Nicholas Cage checking out the car.
They fired it up for him, he said awesome car and went back to work.
Turns out they were shooting his new movie on the same aircraft carrier that we were starting our race on.
They would not let us take pics, as he was in costume at the time. Sorry your just going to have to believe me on this one.

This year there were a few Canadian's besides me, all from Ontario, and they all brought there a game.
red 360, black 996, silver 996, yellow Mercilago.
A few of the guy's were held up at customs and missed there flight's.
We sat around waiting for the truck to show up as people started to trickle in.
Some of the cars at the start were.

4 360's Yellow, red, blue, and black.
360 spider red.
F40lm red.
F40 red
355 spider yellow.
348 spider blue.
456 grey.
Testerrosa black
308 red
2 Mercilago's green, and yellow.
Diablo yellow
Bmw M3 silver, Dado's yellow M3.
Bmw Z3
Bmw Z4
3 MB SL 55's all silver.
Nsx TT red.
General Lee.
12 Smart car's.
Viper black.
3 996's silver, black, yellow
4 993's silver, black, yellow, blue
968 white
Boxster
Hot Rod silver
Mini Cooper black
Magusta bronze
Prodrive SUV grey
Z06 red
Shelby GT silver
Lincoln black
Dodge Hemi wagon black
And they were more still coming in when we left for drinks.

Day 2 the start

I was running late after getting in at 430am and all hungover, so I slapped on my costume to get in the spirit of things and garbed cab it to the pier.
When I pulled up there were about 200 people out front waiting for the start.
Don't you people have jobs?

Turns Arie Luyendyk Jr was not going to make it, so I hoped in his seat for the first leg of the rally.
In a brand new yellow Merceliago, I tried to get on the pier to join my ride but security would not let me in.
I guess they didn't like my Hanson brothers outfit,
So I stood out front to film the start in the middle of the intersection, next to one of New York finest.
The cars were tearing out of there, the crowd went nuts when the General Lee came out and hit his horns.
The yellow lambo was the last car out, he did a burn out right next to the police that were holding up traffic, then he stooped in the middle of the intersection to pick me up.
The crowd went nuts, the NYPD guy's were not to impressed.

We were the last ones through time square and got a little lost, so we made up some time with all that hp under the hood.
A half hour later we caught up to a good size pack, and slowed down a bit.
We were lading the group coming over a hill when we got nailed, 102 in a 65. Ouch.

We watched about 20+ cars pass us, as we were getting are awards for stupidity.
We thanked the officer and were on our way again, when we passed a rest stop and there were the 20+ cars with all the drivers standing there clapping and cheering us on.
We stopped and traded stories with them, and we were off again.
2 hours later we were leading the pack coming over a hill when it happened again, this time we were really moving along. We saw him hiding at the last second we jammed on the brakes, too late he pulled out behind us.
He passed everyone else and pulled us over, we stopped on the shoulder. Just then the car's idle started jumping around from running so hard, the cop thought we were going to take off so he got on the loud speaker and started yelling at us to shut down the engine.
We didn't hear him, so he came along side our car with his gun pointed at me.
The window's were tinted and rolled down 1/4 of the way, so he started yelling at us...show me your hands!
Turn off the engine! We shut it of but then we couldn't roll down the windows. That pissed the cop right off, Show me your hands NOW!!
Roll down your windows NOW!!!
We got the windows down, so he put his gun away.

What the hell is going on here?
Who gave you permission to speed on my highway?
We tried to explain to him that we were a couple of dumb cunucks travailing through, but he was not buying it.
Do you know how fast you were going?
We said we were going 140.
He just stared at us with the most puzzled look on his face.
Until we told him that are Speedo was in kilometers per hour, and we had know idea what that was in mph.
He went back to his car and checked his Speedo, and told us we should not go over 119kl that is the speed limit. Then he gave us some more awards to add to are growing collection, he chewed us out for a few minutes and told us they had towed 4 cars already and slow down.
It was good advice so we took it easy, as NY is a little to close to Canada.

Everyone was waiting at the next tool both for us, cheering and waving at us.
We stopped and waited for the rest of the cars to show up. When the Testerrosa battery went dead, everyone had started to leave so we stayed to help.
He had some cables, but we could not figure out were the battery was on our car,
So I flagged down a pick up truck and we jumped it.
We made it to the border (home) in short time, skipped across to Niagara on the lake. For a helicopter ride around the falls, and a nice dinner.
I then joined Nick in our Nix for the trip to Cleveland, the people at the toll booths warned us that the police we setting up a speed trap to catch us.
So we took it slow for the next 10 miles.
Getting back into the US was a pain for some of the drivers, one guy was delayed for 3 hours as they searched the car and ran vin numbers.
A few people stayed on the US side waiting for us to come back, because they were from other countries and didn't want to take a chance on getting back in.
The road to Cleveland was dull and boring, we avg. 120 most of the way.
We got close to Cleveland when we had some engine trouble, the cap that goes on the header came off and was shooting flames in the engine bay.
We were getting really bad gas mileage, lees than 150 per tank full it should have been 300 per.
We had to find a all night Home Depot to get a few brass fittings for the headers.
I went in to get them, and was stopped right away by security. They thought I was going to rob the place, because I still had my costume on.
They escorted me through the building then to the check out and out the door.
The car was to hot to fix so we drove to the Ritz and parked it for the night.

Day 3
Cleveland to Chicago

I woke up early to work on our car, it would not start. I tried for 10 minutes to get it going, finally it started.
I had to drive it out of the parking garage, so I could see what I was doing.
I pulled up in front of the line waiting for our police escort, there was a 993 right next to us that hit a crow at 150+, the bird had smashed the windscreen and its legs were stuck in side the hood vent.
I grabbed the floor mats from our car and put them on our engine so I could crall up there and fix it.
It was still hot from the short drive, so I had to get a bucket of water to cool down the header.
I got the fitting on the header with out a problem, but when we went to start it wound not catch.
15 minutes went buy, and I finally got it to start, the camera crews were filming us working on the car the whole time.
I felt like I was on Monster garage, and Jesse was going to jump out and tell me I failed.
The police came and escorted us on the highway, the F40's led the way followed by most of the Ferrari's and Lambo's. We ran up the side of the pack so we could film it, just when we got behind the 2 F40's the car quit.
It just stalled out going 100mph, with 5 million dollars worth of cars running right behind us.
We started to move to the shoulder when we were over taken on both sides by the mob of cars, it made for some great video.
The car glided to a halt on the side of the road, right next to the motor cycle cops that had been escorting us.
I got the car started again, and we were off, until we hit 100 mph then it died again.
We let the car sit for 10 minutes, then we jumped back on the highway keeping it under 100.
I thought it might be bad gas, so we ran it down to empty then we filled up again.
New gas made the car run better, so it was time to catch up to the rest of the pack.
We caught most of them a few hours outside Chicago, we saw the German guy's getting pulled over in there SL's for the 2nd time today.
We pulled over at a rest stop near the tire rack, there were over 30 of us getting gas and eating.
There were so many people stopping to take pic's, and talk to us that it created a big traffic jam. They couldn't fit any more cars in the rest stop.
So guy in the botth asked us to leave, and it turned into something like the old LeMans Races, were the drivers run to there car jump in and floor it.
30 cars racing for the entrance ramp that is only one lane wide, and we were running 3 abreast .That video is going to be insane.

There were people following us with video cameras for miles, they even stoped when we did.
We went over to a few of the that had been with us for a hour or so, they told us they had been waiting for us for three hours.
They found out that we were coming from the net, and wanted to take some pics standing next to the cars.
It was crazy,,,,,,,, every car we passed had a video camera pointed at us.

We decided to step up the pace, so we could ditch all the poperratzi.
When we got to Chicago we hit rush hour traffic........at 4.00 on a Sunday??? The pack broke up quickly, and it became a game of survival.
There were people diving from lane to lane, trying to get a look at the F40 and the Lambo's.
We quickly found another route to the hotel.
Later that night we went on a cruse, for dinner and drinks. Then we tore up Rush street, and called it a night at 4am.

Day 4
Chicago to KC

Dustin from Tecakademics and I switch seats, I get a thrill ride with Dado.

Dado and I went to the parking garage were his car was parked, the Bmw M3 that he had bought the day before the Players run last year, looked nothing like this car.
The car was now yellow and the interior was striped of just about everything, but he did add a few things like, race seats, roll cage, fire system, and 500hp.
I was standing next to the passenger door looking inside to see where I was going to sit, when he fired the engine up.
My first thought was the sound of the car exhaust was cool as hell, my second thought was why was my leg on fire?
I looked down and my hair on my left leg was gone, and my white sock was now black.
The tail pipe was coming out the passenger side of the car, right were my foot was.
After pouring half a bottle of water on my leg to ease the pain, and cramming myself into the passenger seat we were ready to go.
Dado gave me the run down on the car, it had no windows on the drivers or passenger side doors.
The only thing left on the inside of the car that was OEM, was half of the dash, every thing else was striped for weight saving's.
He then told me it was raining yesterday, and there might be a little water on the floor.
We started down the parking ramp, when my feet got soaked from all the water that came rushing forward.
We parked outside the front of the hotel, waiting for everyone to line up, and I was already getting hot from sitting there.
I got out to cool off, when I noticed a meter maid pull up, and start giving tickets to the Lambo guy's.
I grabbed my camera and went to interview the guy, he said the Sargent from the fire dept. was making him give out tickets as we were blocking the fire lanes for 5 blocks.
The Sergeant called for tow trucks, and more police to ticket us, we asked him for a little break as we were going shortly when everyone else got there.
He said you rich s.o.b.'s got no parade permit, and your in my space, the tow trucks are on there way.
We took the hint, as a tow truck came around the corner. Everyone jumped in there cars and took off, as they were giving tickets.

We got a little lost leaving the city, and went 10 minutes in the wrong direction.
At the speed that we were going it was like 30 miles north of the city, we turned around only to hit rush hour traffic on the way back to the city.
It was bumper to bumper traffic for 30 minutes and at this point I was about to pass out from all the heat.
The exhaust for the car runs down the center and then comes in the cab, and runs behind the passenger seat.
If it was 80 F outside, it was 100 F in the car.

We were sitting there in traffic when the cabin started to steam up. I looked behind my seat, and the water bottle that I had cooled my leg off with, fell on the exhaust pipe and had melted.

We finally found the right highway and got under way,
The first toll both we came to the girl said we late and the rest of the pack had passed through there 20 minutes ago.
By the time we hit the next booth, we had only passed 3 of our cars.
The guy in the booth said the F40 passed through 5 minutes ago, I think that gave Dado a little bit of motivation. We over took the F40 and 4 other Ferrari's 20 miles later, and 12 other cars before we hit the next toll booth. the guy at this booth said the main pack passed through 10 minutes ago, and to watch out for the speed trap 2 miles up.
Sure enough there were 2 state police cars sitting there shooting radar, I waved to them and took there picture as they waved back. Dado just shrugged and put the hammer down as soon as we were out of there sight.
we passed about 15 more cars, then we came over a hill there was a cop just giving someone a ticket, he was walking back to his car put his hand up to say HI!
Ok maybe he was gesturing something else.
I looked at Dado he smiled and never let off the gas.
By the time we got to the next booth we passed all the cars.
His rear tires were getting worn on the inside, due to his neg camber.
So we had to pit and get a new set,
When we pulled up to the Goodyear tire, 3 guy's came out and started going crazy shouting your the guys.
They had been listing to the police scanner and heard that we had been clocked at 184mph. The police were setting up a road block 2 miles ahead for us.

Good thing we got off!

They didn't have any tires and
they couldn't rotate our tires because our rims were to big, so they sent us around the road block to another tire shop.
They took pics with us and the car, and made us sign autographs.

It took a little longer than we had hoped to rotate the tires, so we were playing catch-up again.
Dustin called us and said they had a flat in the Nsx, and the can of fixaflat was not working.
So we quickly caught up to them and pulled over to help. The tire was shredded and there were 2 chase trucks there helping out.
They loaded the Nsx in the trailer and we were ready to go again.
We stooped at the first gas station with everyone else was waiting for us, I decided it was time to ride in a car with some ac, as I was so sun burnt and tired from the heat.
So I switched with the other cameraman that was in the Prodrive concept SUV.
The Prodrive tuck was like driving a moving target, it was to slow to hang with the pack.
I stood out with the stickers on it, and it was so slow the cops could catch it with no problem.
But it had AC! and it was only an hour to KC.
We pulled up to the hotel, and there we about 100 people outside watching the cars come in.
The guys that had been there for a hour or so told us that the M3 and the 993 had been "detained" lol. Dam I missed all the fun.
Dinner was at a cowboy ranch, and the food was great.
The entertainment was provided by the mechanical bull and the beautiful girls who rode it.
After dinner I went back to the hotel and the driver of the 993 was there holding court, telling everyone what had happened that day.
He had some great stories.

Day 5, part 1
KC to Denver.

First stop Topeka race track.

I woke up to the sound of sirens, KCPD was out side my window warming up there bikes. That ment I was late again, and I had to scramble to get a ride.
Most of the drivers were warming up there cars when I got down there. So most of the cars were full.
I managed to grab a ride with Reza, aka MRMOTA.com
in his new red 360 spider.
We got a police escort through the city, from the same cops who were trying to give us tickets the night before.
We tore up the city, running 3 wide and 20 cars deep, weaving in and out while the police blocked traffic for us.
I am sure they were happy to see us go, we jumped on the highway for a short hour ride to the track.
Of course Reza and I got lost. and took 12 cars with us, so we were late getting to the track.
When we showed up, there was a drivers meeting going on telling us what we could do on the track.
They let us out for 5 warm up laps, to get use to the track.
Reza was filming with one hand and shifting with the other, as we went around the track.
After the 2nd time around, everyone started to pass each other. The yellow 996 spun in front of us, the 350z went off roading, and the Testerossa got smoked by the Hemi Wagon.
The 2 F40's took the track, and were shadowing each other most of the day. They were giving rides to everyone, and would pit after 4 or 5 laps to switch passenger's.
There was a long line of people waiting to go, so I decided to ride with Dado instead.
We waited in the pits for the 2 F40's to load up, and followed them out on the track.
The F40's could not shake Dado's M3, we were no more than 4 car lengths behind them most of the way around the track.
The only time they would pull ahead is when we came to the strait away.
I could see all the people in the pits cheering Dado on as we went by. Dado stayed with them for 5 laps until the driver of the F40 turned on his hazards.
The video should be great!

I was watching Adrian tear it up on the track, when he came down the strait and missed a shift. There was a big puff of white smoke and his car started to sound ruff.
He wasn't the only one with problems on the track.
There was a Evo that jumped on the track and hurt his engine.
The silver 996 broke a shifter linkage after 3 laps, and had to be towed to the dealer.
Lucky for him it was only 5 miles away, unlucky for him the hillbilly tow truck driver, scraped his rear end and dented the side sill with a 4x4.
Then they got to the dealer, and they didn't have the part in stock, but it was under warranty. They only had 1 Porsche on the lot, and would not take the part off it.
So they had to bribe the guy to take the part off the new car.
It started to rain so we decided to leave for Denver, when 4 police cars showed up.
They had heard we were there, and wanted to take some pic's with the General Lee. We informed them that the General had skipped the track event because it didn't involve jumping the car.

I was going to ride with Dado again, when one of the kid that was in the Testerossa asked if we could switch seats.
I didn't think it was such a good idea, and the kid's dad didn't look to happy about it either.
I warned him that Dado drives a little fast, the kid said that's why I want to ride with him.
His dad said no, but after a few minute's he let him go.
I jumped in the Testerossa and we were off, by the time we hit the highway Dado was long gone.

We were moving along at a good pace when we came across a state trouper parked in the middle, he let us pass and then pulled out and followed us.
He made his way to the front of the pack, and lead the way doing the speed limit.............FOR 20 MILES.
This had to be the smartest cop I have ever seen, we were on the radios daring each other to pass him.
One of the guy's in the Porsche's finally did pull ahead of him, the cop jumped right behind him and got on his bumper.
He escorted us all the way to the tool booths, at 55 mph it seamed like forever.
1 hour later we ran into another cop, he drove along with us for a bit smiling and taking pics as he made his way through the pack until he came to the Prodrive concept truck, he took one look at the plate and pulled him over. The cop impounded the truck for no plate, no insurance, and no vin number.

We were weaving in between our group cars, trying to get to the front so I could video tape them.
I didn't even notice there was a cop following us, he pulled us over for weaving in and out of traffic.
He was sitting in his car running our plates, when the cell phone rang.
It was the kid calling his dad, he said are you guy's getting pulled over? How did you know? Because I heard it over the police scanner. Wait a minute you don't have a police scanner. I don't....... but the jail does.............
He and Dado were in Jail, for running from the police. They had towed his car, and would not tell him what the charges were yet.
The kid could not drive Dado's car back, so he wanted us to pick him up.
The cop gave us an award for stupidity, and we turned around to go pick up the kid. We looked at the map and they were over 2 1/2 hours back.

The kid's dad then made the ultimate father son decision, he called the kid and broke the news.
That guy Dado is your hero, ever since you saw that movie Mischief Destroy you wanted to go on this rally.
This should teach you a leason, you and your hero have to take responsibility for your actions. He fled from the police, and so did you. So you can stay there with him and catch up with us tomorrow when they let him out.
We turned around again and headed for Denver.

His dad told me the deal was, if he got A's and B's in school for a year he could go on the rally.

There were 8 days on this trip. If you want to read more let me know, or I will just crall back in my hole. ;)

Day 5, part 2
KC to Denver.

The kids dad was asking me what would happen to Dado, I said don't worry about it.
He will have to see the judge in the morning, post bail, 500 to 1000 dollars or so and they will let him go.
Or so I thought!
The kid called back and said the cops were saying that Dado was going 187 mph,
they were chasing him for 1/2 hour.
One of the cops said they were going to charge him with reckless, 185+ in a 55, careless driving, and fleeing and eluding which was a felony.
I told him not to worry about it, as the cops are just a little bit upset, and wait and see what the judges say's in the morning.
The kid also said the bail was going to be thousands of dollars, and he only had 40 bucks on him.
I told them I would wire the money in the am to bail him out, and I would call the guy in the white Porsche because he is a lawyer.
He then said they were letting Dado's car go, and he was going to drive it into town to find a hotel and he would call us back later.
The dad was concerned and was thinking about going to pick up his son.
Just then we saw 3 police cars that had pulled over the F40, the Diablo and a few F cars. We thought that was strange because they were going the speed limit most of the rally.
We slowed down to video tape them, and when I looked back up there was the 993 on the flat bed.
It was passing us and we were going 80 mph.
We called ahead to find out were everyone was, they were 20 miles ahead at a rest stop,
So we stepped up the pace and got there in 12 minutes.
When we pulled up the camera crew said they were filming on a over pass as the main pack came through.
They started to pack up there gear to leave, when they heard Dado's car ripping down the highway.
They filmed him running flat out and being chased by a police car that was a mile or so behind him.

The kid's dad was a little stressed at this point, he could not get ahold of his son. Because there was no service, we were in the middle of tornado alley and there was a bad storm blowing in.
So he wanted me to drive for a while, I was cool with that.
The state line was only a few miles away, and we were happy to leave Kansas. That meant we could step it up.
We were following the Canadian Porsche's who didn't care if they got pulled over or not, because it was just a fine for them. So they tend to drive a little fast, to say the least.
The TR was not made for running at those speeds, but what the heck it wasn't my car.
At one point I had the TR going flat out, the Speedo read 170 when I look in my rear view mirror. There was a car coming up on me hard. I knew it had to be one of us, as the cop cars could not reach these speeds.
Let alone start to catch me.
I pulled in the right lane as I passed the zo6, like he was standing still.
Just then this white Porsche blew past us like I was going backwards, I looked down at the Speedo it read 178mph.
The kids dad then yelled, "HEY LOOK HIS CAR IS ON FIRE!"

I looked up as the 965 passed us and there was this orange glow coming out the rear of his car.
It was starting to get dark out due to the storm that was coming, the exhaust was reflecting off the road and it made it look like a fireball was stuck to the rear of the car.
I wish I had it on tape, but I was driving.
We were running flat out for about 10 minutes, when I thought I was seeing things.
Did you see that?.... See what?...... There it is again....... Look out there is another one.
There were tumble weeds running across the highway, I had never seen such a thing before.
I mean I have read about them, and saw them on old cowboy movies. But I never though they were real.
Here I was driving a Ferrari at 170 mph trying to dodge tumble weeds that were blowing across the highway. It was crazy!
We slowed down because to avoid them, but there were too many.
When they hit the car at 100mph it was like someone took a box of corn flakes and threw them in to a fan.
They would just explode, we even rolled down the window so we could catch one.

Then the bad weather started to roll in, the lighting storms were awesome to watch, but then it started hailing and we had nowhere to take cover.
It looked like we were headed for a tornado, but that only turned into bad dust storms blowing across the highway and sand blasting or car.
It started raining so hard the wipers could not keep up. We had no traction control, so we thought it wise to slow down.
Just then we got passed by the 993 on the flat bed for the 3rd time today.

The storm finally let up, so we wanted to make up for some lost time.
I was with Reza in his 360 and Ryan in his Boxster, we decided to race from 40 mph. The TR didn't stand a chance, but what the heck it wasn't my car.
The 2 of them got the jump on me, but by the time we hit 80mph I started to catch up. We shifted into 5th gear and the 360 started to leave us, the boxster was right next to me the entire time.
I only started to pull on the boxster when we hit 150, by that time all I could see of the 360 was its tail lights.

We rolled into Denver following Reza in his 360, and got lost right away.
He had taken 10 of us for a tour of the ghetto, we decided it was in our best interest to split up and find our own way to the hotel.
We arrived at the hotel parking lot and there were 50 or so people waiting to take pics, when we got out of our car there were tumble weeds stuck into the intakes of all the cars.
We had one huge one stuck in the side of the cheese graders of the TR.
We only had 20 minutes to change and drive down to the car show, I had to help the yellow 996 change his tire as he blew it on a pot hole when he pulled up.
I got cleaned up and we took off for the car show, just in time for it to start raining.
We were driving to Union station, when we pulled up next to a 959. I was shocked, I thought this must be a kit car, but he followed us to the car show. We were waiting to pull in, when he went strait and parked down the street.
We pulled around to the front of club Lotus, it was like the red carpet at the academy awards.
There were 200 people standing around in the rain, taking pictures of the cars as they arrived.
There were so many quality cars there, not just the 70 Players run cars. There were locals that brought some impressive machinery. This car show had some of the most exotic cars I have ever seen in one place, the turn out was verry impressive as it was still raining out. The club was only letting in Players Run and VIP's, so the hot chicks in the parking lot were begging for us to bring them in. This went over well with us, as we made several trips out to the car and picked up some more friends.
Who say's hot chicks don't like hot cars.
One of the Players run staff came in the club and announced that they had hail the size of golf balls on the other side of town.
So we should find some shelter for our cars, that killed the car show.
A few of us were to drunk at that point to move our cars, as we had a few drinks and we were not use to the altitude.
We went to dinner across the street, and saw the 959 parked out front.
It was no kit car it was the real deal.

Day 6
Denver to Aspen
.
Turned on the TV to catch the early morning news, they were reporting that Denver got 2 inches of hail last night.
They showed someone shoveling there driveway to clear the hail, they were only 10 miles away from the hotel were are cars were parked.
I went down to breakfast to hear all the stories about the club last night, It sounded like everybody hooked up with someone, and a few had pic's and video to prove it.
You might have to get the directors cut of the dvd to see some of that footage.
I went down stairs to find the 2 F40's out front getting a wax job in front of the hotel, we all started to line up. One of the first cars was the S7, its owner had a blue Galardo and a white Murcielago there as well.
He left his car running with the doors open, so I had to go take a look. The owner was really nice and let me sit in it as he told me about his car and his 30+ exotic car collection.

I love to drive my cars hard, I hate it when they just sit there and rot. I was real disappointed when we couldn't make the start in New York, but we had a little problem with the Enzo. They were going to load it on the truck in the morning and revved it up and bent some valves.
Ferrari flew there tech's in from Italy to fix it, but they didn't bring there lift to take the engine out of the car.

Are you going to drive the rest of the way?

Heck yeah, my tech's will be driving the Lambo's as back up just in case.

Great I would love to film that.

Just then he turns to me and asks.... So what are you driving?

I was dumbfounded at this point, I wanted to say sorting really cool, but I mumbled an Nsx,

That's a nice car, Hmmm I don't have one of those,
but you might need something a little faster to keep up!

If I had a dollar for overtime I have heard that, I could afford the S7 too.

I get a call from the kid, he says that he tried to sleep in Dado's car last night, but the car had no windows and it was getting a little cold and wet out.
So he had to drive into town and find a hotel.
He said they went before the judge, and his bail was going to be 7,500 cash only.
That sounds a little steep, what did he get charged with?
He was not sure, but said something like 135 in a 55, failing to stop for a police officer, and something else that he could not make out.

Ok I will have to Western Union you the cash.

Your going to wire 75,000????

75 grand!!!! I thought you said 75 hundred!
What the heck did he do run over Dorothy and Toto?
OJ's bail was cheaper than that!

He smarted off to the judge, by saying he wanted a court appointed attorney. The judge didn't like that and said how much is your car worth? Dado told him 150.000, the judge said than you can afford your own lawyer. Bail set at half of the cars value, 75.000 cash only no bond.

Dustin then decided to rent a car and go back to pick up the kid and put Dado's car in storage, until he gets out.
The kid's dad and I took off with the rest of the pack, and our police escort. As soon as the police turned off there exit and were out of view. The S7 blew past us followed by the Galrdo and the Murcilago, we gave chase in the TR but it was no contest. After about 20 minutes of trying to catch up, we saw the S7 and the 2 Lambo's take the exit. We stopped to ask if he was ok, he said they were going back to the hotel to pick up his wife because she was still sleeping. They would catch up later. Most of the rest of the pack had past, and was taking the long way around so we took the short cut to Aspen. It only took 3 hours vs 6 hours the other way. It was a 2 lane road through the mountains, with no room to pass.
We caught up to the Canadian's in there 360, and wanted to do a little filming of there car.
So we got along side of them, we were doing 150mph when we came up on a white suv in our lane. We got back in the right lane, and the white suv that we were playing chicken with swerved onto the shoulder. It was a Forest Ranger, He flipped around and came after us. He pulled us over and came to the car.

What the hell do you think you were doing? Its not real smart to play chicken with a Suburban, when your driving a small Fiero.

We then told him we were filming and trying to get a better shot of the Ferrari in front of us.

You might think your Steven Speilberg with that camera, but if you keep up that kind of driving around here your going to end up like James Dean.

Just then 10 other cars blew past us beeping there horns, he then shook his head and said let me guess those are the comedians for you new movie.
He then let us go.

When we came to the next town we joined up with 15 cars that were having lunch, we then started up the Mountain.
When we got 2 turns from the top, the Eleanor and the GT350 stopped, the air was so thin they could not make it to the top.
We were going to stop to help, but the TR started to break down. We floored it in 2nd gear it started chugging up the last few turns until we got to the top. Then we got out for a few pics, and to see if the others would make it up.
The 360, Eleanor and the GT 350 had to turn around and use a short cut, because they could not make it all the way up.
The Canadian's felt right at home when they started making snow men, this lead to a big snow ball fight.
Some of us that made it to the top, had problems starting there cars so they had to roll them down the hill until they had enough air to start.
We made it to Aspen with lots of time to spare, so we decided to do a little shopping. They had allot of t shirt shops there, so we wanted to get a shirt made that read Free Dado. We searched the local shops and could not find anyone who would make one on the spot. There was a guy who would air brush them, but they look cheese. We tried the yellow pages to find a screen shop but they were all closed. So we went back to the hotel to drink, on of the guy's said if you get the shirts done I will pay for all of them. That was all we needed to hear, we jumped on the net to find a place in Vegas to screen up some shirts. They were all closed, so we called Kinkos. We told them we needed 100 t shirts made by 6 pm the next day could they do it. The guy hung up on me, I called him back and said I was serious. He said do you have any idea how much that would cost? Like I care some one just gave me there black Ammex card and said DO IT!
He said it would take them all night long to get it done, but the problem was they didn't have any T-shirts.
One of the Guys in the General Lee jumps into action and finds a store with 75 t shirts, and then had to find someone to pick them up and drop them off at Kinkos. Then that person had to pick them back up and drop them off at the hotel.
The co pilot in the General Lee was a graphics designer, so he whipped up the design and faxed it to them.
