for a G2 TEG, if i wanna upgrade the factory caliper (like upgrade from a G5 Lude to a NSX caliper). what kinda option is available in the market? those non-v-tec TEG seems really weak for me.

i wanna keep my factory rims so i don't wanna use the aftermarket caliper.

The only upgrades using honda parts that I know of is going to 11" rotors and it requires getting a 15" rim. You're better off getting a good set of rotors (Brembo blanks), pads (Hawk HP Plus) and braided lines. No need to spend money on big brake kits or new calipers.

yup, i'm going to order the Hawk HP+ soon, just see if there is in budget, i'll consider get the caliper as well

i'll not replace the rotor yet since they still ok.

You'll regret not getting the rotors.....

You'll have to machine the ones you have anyhow before you put new pads on. The Brembo rotor is less likely to warp on you, so that a definate plus when going with an agressive pad like the Hawk's. You should be able to get the Brembo rotors for $150-200. It's your call though.....

be honest, i still don't understand what mean machine the rotor(like use sand paper to sand it). i've check from my machnic, he said the blank brembo is about 180 a pair. but i just thinking it's kinda a waste if just throw the factory rotor now. plus i'm going to do everything myself (with friend teaching me). otherwise i will consider doing all in as a package

^^ You take your rotors to a brake shop. They "turn" the rotors on a machine to make the surface nice and smooth. They also check to make sure your rotors still have a safe amount of material left, otherwise you may get stuck buyin new ones anyways. Rare but it could happen.

You need to but the rotors on a brake lathe. Bascially it removes material from the braking surface of the rotor evenly so that you have a smooth and flat contact area between the pad and rotor. It will also true the rotor if it's warped. You can't just throw new pads in. That's easy work though, just drop your rotors off at a brake shop, and pick them up later that day.

The price for those rotors seems high to me. I'd shop around a little more.

Why go with HP+ unless your planning to autocross and race ur car lots?
Stick to the street HPS pads...:D

well, the reason i get the + instead b'coz S b'coz i found the price is not really big difference. plus both of them are all weather use(means winter as well i guess). so i think the + have higher tolerate level.

is it make sense to you? correct me if i'm wrong

Be careful with high performance pads because if you are not using them for track with harsh braking and need fade resistance, they might work WORSE than factory in normal driving conditions. That is because the high performance pads need more heat to work at their full potential.

my $0.02

i did put that into my consideration as well. i call mopac few days ago and ask them about information. they never mention their working temp. and he said both of them is for all-weather use. so i thought it should be ok to use the + and S. and the +just worn out faster than the S b'coz it's racing compound?

With those HP+ Pads your going to have to get the pads at a much higher temperature before they will be at there max performance level.
Also they have much more dust, squeel, and will eat your rotors alot faster than the HPS...

Whatever your decision though..

hm. that true. may be i should try the S first see how it turn out!

thx:thumbsup:

You seriously have to machine the rotors each time you change pads? It makes sense - I've just never heard that before.

thx for the advise. i'll see what my machnic say about the rotor. since i'm going to learn how to do some brake maintaince......
