I just tried My Donair in Castleridge today, and it's pretty good. I just happened to be reading this thread when my sister called to see if I could figure out anything to eat tonight! Hahah! I love my donairs with hot sauce and My Donair had some good stuff.

Best value, if you ask me, is Dakota's downtown along the C-train station, just a couple blocks away from the Science Center. For $4, you get this huge ass donair that barely closes and potato chips as well.

I also like the Donair Store by Crescent Heights high school.

That place has a nice atmosphere with Jimmy, but their donairs are absolutely terrible. I can't even eat a single one because of the overpowering ingredients. Sure, they're big, but they are not good. And the chicken is worse.

thanks arif, i'll do that. if a donair thread on a car forum can get so much talk, there must be something to them!
speaking of JDM land, you can find the weirdest uh..."hot dogs" there. such as, spagetti hot dogs, rice hot dogs (with wasabi of course) and ANY kind of hot dog ;).

I just found out on the news yesterday that this place was buying their meat from that guy that got caught butchering meat in his garage. Though their food tates great, I'm a bit leary of going there in the future. I pray to God that they weren't knowingly buying bad meat. Should I be worried about having consumed any of the illegal meat?

I have to say Marco's Famous on Whyte is the best place in edmonton to get a donair (i think it actually got namonated as it to) Other then that Richards and Canada's Best (they always call me boss their) are close seconds. But now im craving a donair and since I haven't heard of this Simon King's place before I think Im going to go their:)
