so yesterday i was checking out my boss's 360 spider, a sweet piece of machinery. but then i noticed a couple things, and hopefully someone can clear this up. first thing i noticed is that the air duct on the side that goes to the brakes (or atleast thats where i assumed they would go) appear to be fake. there is no ducting into the wheel wells to cool the brakes. i don't know if they are routed somewhere else or if they are there to look good  the second thing is that the front and rear brakes the the same size with the same calipers. except the rear brakes have an extra caliper? this seemed odd to me. most cars have more braking in the front. if anyone could clear this up that would be great

Dont all of them have that?

the calipers are the same size but the rear caliper pistons are smaller, the 2nd caliper is the parking brake.

I think the rear ducts are meant to get as much air around the engine and it's coolers as possible, esp. the exhaust & cats.

Spider's are soft top variations, and that isn't a spider. Here's a pic of another Modena, looks pretty much the same.

i know it probably serves a purpose but it doesn't go to the brakes like i though it would. i was hoping someone knew where it went

If they don't go anywhere, maybe they are speed holes to help stabilize the car at high speeds?

if its not going to the brakes, then it could be going to the engine bay or just air holes like crazyning said for down force

A. those holes .. are good and sexy looking.

B. I think ( just me ) is it some aero design, creat more down force during high speed, the most special thing for a 360 is .. lots of down force on high speed, same as the big spoiler on a Porsche 911 ! but Ferrari don't look good with spoiler !

C. may be like the holes on top, is for sucking air to the engine.

Anyway .. I think that 2 holes are for high speed down force.

i believe C4S is correct when he says their may be air on top. There is no way Ferrari puts "rice holes" on their cars. Something like that would cause way too much drag. There are probably holes on top sucking air to the oil cooler like on most other mid engine cars.

because then he would make himself look stupid infront of his boss. It's obviously real.

its a ferrari boys...there not fake..its a sports car theres a reason behind the holes...im goin with the aero theory...sence ferraris are build for high speed and theres no spoiler...id assume downforce on the back end it needs osmethi nto hold it on the road other wise it would take off and fly away

cooling for the engine (its in the back remember). probably gets air for the engine itself from there as well.
