If you have any others, lemme know too. Those are the two ones that quickly came to mind, need to rent one of them for something i'm doing, and want to get the better one.

Goodfellas owned, but Scarface is a classic. Comparing apples to oranges!

Goodfellas is one of the best, Scarface is one of the best, Godfather 1 is one of the best, you can't really choose...

Young and Dangerous is one of the best Foreign Gangster movie series..... The prequel and #3 are my favorite..

Also Killer and Rules of the Game are very good Chinese Gangster movies..

You all need your heads checked, cause you left out Casino as well. Not to mention Donny Brosco and Carlito's Way.

Casino and Goodfellas are classics. Scorsese rocks, all his movies are great. I dunno about his new movie Gangs of New York tho, looks kinda lame...

Yeah Scorsese's stuff kicks ass. I was so hyped out when I heard the words "Gangs of New York" until I actually found out what it was about when I saw the trailer. Coming from Scorsese, a movie with that title can be so deceiving :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Yep. I didn't think it would be based in like 1920 or whatever.

Everyone's already said what needs to be said about the classics.
As far as newer aged gang movies go, I liked Untouchables, and Deuces Wild.

Untouchables was horrible!! Purely Hollywood, since there was never an actual recorded incident of Elliot Ness meeting Al Capone in real life. :bullshit:

Deuce's Wild was okay, but there's something about Matt Dillon which makes me not take him seriously in serious movies. I think everytime I see him, I automatically see him as that scummy guy with the big polished teeth in "What about Mary?"! Hahaha!!

Mobster's was god awful as well. :barf: performances from everyone.

Well, you heard wrong cause Reservoir Dogs is great!! Hahaha! But I wouldn't consider that a gangster movie, since none of the guys in the "gang" are supposed to know each other. Great dialogue though. A lot of those Tarantino movies are good for dialogue.

A couple of good non-gangster movies with gangsters in it:
Suicide Kings - Christopher Walken is the man! And with Dennis Leary as his right hand man.. :bigpimp:
True Romance - Another Tarantino film, so you can expect good dialogue. Big line up of stars: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken, James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Chris Penn, Dennis Hopper, just to name a few :) Samual L. Jackson has a quick role in this too.

i haven't seen that cuz its always out when i go to rent it....:dunno:

as long as there isnt some rapper in it who is trying to uplift his badass reputation in it.....i mean, ice cube was in boyz in the hood, but at least it was a somewhat realistic portrayal of southcentral at the time, where as those movies with like ja rule and jay-z and shit are all like they are rich and always have the chicks etc.
the only legitimate rapper/actor i found was tupac

300rwhp
10-26-2002, 02:27 AM
yeah no rappers in menace i dont think
its classic line is
this guys needs some crack or heroine whatever so he guys up to this guy and says man i need some ill give u a dollar, the guy says no so he says what about a cheeseburger still no so then he says "man ill suck yo dick" rite then the dealer pulls out his gat (haha gat ) and shoots the crack head

PunkA$$
10-26-2002, 11:02 AM
