Would putting just a primer coat on the car look ghetto? I want to sand it down and either get a army green paint or just a primer coat while I'm saving up for a real paintjob. Would this look ghetto? Would I just use spray paint to do it with?

Just leaving it primer, would yes, look ghetto.

Hell, doing it with spray paint, is yes, ghetto.

Should I put the primer coat over the crappy paintjob? B/c wouldn't it rust if it was just primer? I kinda like the flat OD green look...

Primer will not stop rust from showing up very well, so if you do have just primer on there, it is pretty much guaranteed to start showing rust spots within a year or so. But even if it's going to be a shorter period of time than that before you paint, the rust could still be there. You may not be able to see it though, and so you could paint over it sealing the rust in so that it rusts from the inside out.

Just primer and spray paint. Its easy and cheap and you can always sand it off when your ready for a good paint job.
