Apexi Downpipe for DSM

On the Apexi web site it says that the Apexi N1 downpipe for a 1g DSM (Part #147-KM03) is to be only used with an Apexi N1 cat-back system. Can I have a custom cat-back exhaust made (since i know a guy who owns an exhaust shop) or will it actually do something bad to the car? Is that just a marketing ploy to get you to buy the N1 cat-back too?

you can use the apex'i downpipe. it works just as well as the buschur for less green

Marketing, you just have to remove the Apexi flange and weld on one that works with teh rest of your system...

My Apexi GT downpipe bolted right to my Greddy EVO exhaust with no modifications.
