Just got a dumb-ass (my part) ticket for rolling thru a stop sign..... aaargh!

Definitely fighting it in court (nothin to lose).

Does anyone have any wisdom to share about whether my insurance goes up the same amount if I have the ticket on my record PLUS -3 demerit points as opposed to just the ticket/fine. Will my premiums go up more if I also have demerits taken off? What are the chances that my premiums wont go up at all (any insurance brokers out there????)?

thanks o' wise ones!

if you get the demerits taken off your insurance company never finds out about the ticket...it is essentially like getting a photo radar ticket...

insurance company only sees demerits for all intents and purposes. when renewal comes up and you have had tickets but no demerits, and they ask you how many tickets you have, you reply "None"

Ask if you can pay the fine w/ no demerits.

don't hold me to this.. but i do believe that the way insurance prems is that after 3 tickets, ur insurance gos up like 20%, then after then every like 2 or 3 tickets is 15%.. or sumthing like that.. i just know that i have 8 tickets and my insurance has a surcharge of 85% cause of them....
