We did this thing over at my car club, thought I'd try it here.
You have $40k, and you can buy any car and any mods for it. The catch is, you cant choose a car from the manufacturer you currently own. I drive a Nissan, so mine can't be from the Nissan family. Prices don't have to be exact, just guess accurately.
1997 Canary Yellow VolksWagon Golf GTI VR6: $25,000
Axis - Se7en (Gunmetal) Rims: $1,700
Pirelli P-Zero 255 Z Rated Tyres: $1,200
Eibach Sportline Springs: $750
Tokico Shocks and Struts: $900
APEX'i N1 Catback Exhaust: $800
Neuspeed CAI: $300
Neuspeed Perfomance Cams: $400
Schrik Aluminum Oil Pan: $300
Bosch Platinum Plugs: $50
Neuspeed Ignition Wires: $100
Neuspeed Gaskets (neoprene): $70
Neuspeed Valve cover: $300
Two momo RS2 GT Racing seats: $850
Alpine CD deck: $400
Alpine V12 amp: $300
Two Alpine 10" Type S Subs: $700
Total Cost: $34,120

You can buy cars for under $40 000?????
Lol, joking
I'd go for a 97 or so rx-7, those are probably around the price range, or a 97 328is and body kit and other mods, not entirely sure though because i don't really know what these cars are going for right now.
Ohh, I know what I'd get, e30 m3, paint, body kit, rims, turbo it, all kinds of goodies, redo the interior.

ok... RX-7's were disconitnued in North America in 1995, some of the last shipments were sold as 1996's but VERY FEW.
As for $40K, honestly who spend $40K on a vehicle, not matter what you do it DEPRECIATES..
Take $40K use it as a down payment on a house or invest it.

I know BUT, the smart thing to do is invest it or buy something like a house..... thats why the Supra is going bye bye and the Type R as well.... buy one car and invest the rest of the money...
