I was thinking of picking up this unit myself. I love the instrument feature of it, showing lateral G-Units, MPH, etc.

I'm pretty positive u can shut off the beeping feature. U can shut it off on every other pioneer head unit.

U usually have to go through the main menu setup. But u have to have the deck powered OFF to access the main setup menu.
Hope this helps.

Around $3000 I think. Because it's also a DVD player, navigation, instrument panel, etc.

I'm just basing my price on what I saw in the BestBuy flyer, and if I remember, was somewhere in the range of $3000, I think $3499.99

Convert it to canadian funds, then you will have..
anyways i saw the ad for this in SCC. It looks so sweet, but spending $3000 on something like that isn't my cup o' tea.

If anyone wants to check out a review for it, read it here (http://cars.ign.com/articles/526/526842p1.html), ironically enough on IGN.

Just make sure you buy a good line driver as well as some proper controls. Also you will have the problem of starting and shutting it down so all the hardware you will need will cost you about the same price in the end.

all dektop components i already had extra of... the screen is 350$, CD-RW/DVD-ROM is 80$, then ill need wire extensions for probably 100$, then a GPS/Nav software and unit for 100$

So still VERY cheap

Okay, mine is installed, and I got the new disc V1.1, that fixed the annoying beep that wouldn't turn off :) The system is so cool, that not I want to attach stuff too it. My first idea was to connect a camera with zoom and pan, so that I could sit in the car and check out chics, but I got bored with that idea before I found the camera. It would be better to just get out of the car and walk over and say hi to her :)

So now I need other ideas, like maybe some radar unit that had a video out which could be hooked to the nav video in, so that I could see how close objects were to my car.

Has anyone here ever done, or have any cool ideas about what can be attached to the nav unit?

Also, from what I hear a replacement disc is expensive for this, so has anyone here ever burned a copy to use, and if so, how did you do it?

Seems I forgot to mention that the mic input doesn't seem to work. Called Pioneer and they told me that I had to unhook the unit, plug in the mic and then reconnect the unit. They also mentioned pushing the reset button. But I have done all of these as well as other ideas, and the mic buttons are still grayed out and inactive. The Pioneer guy said that the unit does not actually detect sound from the mic to enable it, but that it just detects that it is plugged in. If this is the case, I would assume that the main unit is bad :(

I also seem to have a problem with the remote control range. If you strap the remote to the steering wheel, the main unit can't detect the signal. If you take the remote off the steering wheel, it seems the range is like 10 inches max?
