Hi, its my first time on these boards. Seems like a good place to find car-related info and ask questions.

What are some good tips for taking care of leather interiors, specifically leather seats and steering wheel? What are some good products?

I once heard that the sprays (ie. Tana Style 16, etc.) for leather jackets is a good option for leather car seats. If this helps, the car is an 02 Acura (maybe they use a specific leather.. I'm not sure).

Any advice?

I do my car twice a year with Simoniz leather conditioner. Seems to work pretty good. Makes the steering wheel really slippery.

for my parents cars we got some sort of leather protectant package from the dealership on the seats. Its supposed to prevent them from cracking, etc. Only supposed to clean those with mild soap and water.

I don't think Acura's brand of leather cleaner would be any different than anything you can pick up at Canadian Tire (and the dealerships will charge so much more too)

Kinda a side question but what is the recommendation for intervals of cleaning the leather seats?

I condition my leather before winter, and then after winter.

any leather cleaner will work.. or just mild soap and water. Make sure you clean the surface really really well, then dry it really well before you apply the conditioner. i use a leather condition from luster glaze (most dealerships use this product).. apply and wait about 15 min. then wipe down with a dry rag. the surface will retain it glossy apperance, but no greesy feeling. i would do this 2 times a year, 3 in high traffic areas
