why did you take the vtec head off?

Alot of factors made me decide against it. For one, compression would have been 12:1. The fact that I was going to use the PM6 distributor(lose alot of adjustment for adv/ret) and since there is no knock sensor, made it an easy decision. Also, there are not very many cams that work for a z6. One that comes to mind is the Zex 59300, but using the a6 head with a 301x cam would yield similar results and at a fraction of the cost. Just a slight loss of low/mid range. Besides, this engine was slated to be a dual-webber setup. There would be no way to compensate for VTEC with the Weber carbs.
As it is setup now, the compression is close to 11:1. For those serious about this engine, I can post pics of the motor.

It can be OBD0, OBD1, or OBD2 depending on what injectors, distributor, and ecu you use. The displacement is larger, but not to the point of being a 1.7. I believe it is 1630cc as opposed to 1595cc.
