I think that with the .ca domain you need to pay yearly fees but don't need to pay them with the .com :dunno:

My idea of a good domain name is one that somebody can remember without having to write it down. eg. Microsoft.com

so...
.com obviously. But good luck getting anything you want that someone is going to remember without having to write it down. try. net next then .org. Country specific extentions would be my last choice.

You have to pay fees with all extensions.

.com is the most recognizable.

.ca sucks because it is highly moderated and you have to have ALL of your info filled out at all times or it will get suspended. (it actually has regulations, unlike .com .org .net)

That was only in the old days where restrictions were placed on .ca domains. It's changed a lot where anyone can get a .ca nowadays without those restrictions.

For me to get beyond.ca back then, I had to open up an office (well a PO box) in Vancouver to be multi-provincial. Otherwise I would've ended up with beyond.ab.ca which would suck!
