I've heard people having these on your automatic transmissions, usually on cl's. What are they and why would u ever need one?

to my knowledge, its kinda like a rad for your tranny fluid. ppl that torque brake tend to heat up their tranny fluid really fast

auto trannies worst enemy is heat, by reducing your transmissions temperature its life increases at an equal rate. so the colder you can get you'r tranny, the longer it should last (jeff knows alot about Trannies, hahaha, he go owned by one at the mall);) one way to lower the temperatures is witha tranny cooler, its simply a radiator that mounts up front on your car, you can get them in a variety of sizes.
They are really only important on vehicles with a heavy load ie:a tow vehicle, or in other High HP aplications such as a race car
