The SUV rolled onto the pedestrian with its rear wheels and continued to roll. You can see the pedestrian in a heap by the curb.

The pedestrian was still in the lane on the don't walk, and the PT ran the red light (driver was some 70 year old lady).

The pedestrian survived by sheer luck - the car landed on him but because it had been hit, the dent in the car made a gap for him. Still critical condition, but still, time to buy a lotto ticket. They thought he was dead but he started making noises on the way to the hospital.

Read that article to eh... I was suprised when I read how he was saved.... nothing like a fetal position size dent in your car to save someone...

Investigators said that at the time of the accident the crosswalk signal was red, and therefore Tegtmeyer should not have been crossing the street. They also reported that Tegtmeyer miraculously escaped alive because the dent in the side of the Subaru caused by the crash created a hollow space that allowed the vehicle to roll over him without crushing him to death. Neither vehicle was carrying any passengers, and both drivers escaped with only minor injuries.

No, the PT was driving straight, swerved, (the wrong way at that), in an attempt to miss the subaru. Like was stated earlier, the PT ran a red.

Yeah the PT driver ran a red, and the pedestrian walked against the light as well. If just either was in the wrong it wouldn't have been so hellish, but with both in the wrong you see the results :thumbsdow
