My family has a 98 Pontiac Bonnieville that recently blew a plastic Intake.

The people that fixed it didn't bother to note the Radio's autolockout upon battery disconnect feature, and are unable to fix it now.

Deos any one know how to reactivate the radio. It deos not have the Mute button(or any buttons) on the steering wheel, and it does not have the Bose.

Thank you.

There should be info in your owners manual. You also need the preset security code. If you don't have it, take it to your local Pontiac dealer and they should be able to override it and provide you with a new code.

I forget what we had to do with the radio in our Suburban. But, there is a section in your owners manual on radio's and there will be a section explaining how to "unlock" the radio, provided you have the security code.

The guy who owned it before us didn't take any care of the car it would seem.

So now it broke

We were hoping not to have to go to the dealer...........becuase the owner's manual only says how to do it BEFORE battery disconnect. Not after.
