I was just wondering what is the max boost that my red top sr can take. I know that the turbo doesnt do much after 14 or 15 psi and that it is not safe for it anyways. So how high can i go without wreaking my turbo and without making my sr ping. Thanks

there is no point of putting out more boost than is efficient as you will probably just heat soak whatever cooler you have and end up with less power.

wouldnt it depend on the size of ur turbo? and how much air and fuel ur getting?

Stock fuel pump, is good for nothing. replace it before upping the boost. Once you've done that, you can boost it up to around 9-10. If you want more than that you will need an FMIC. Stock injectors are good to 12-13psi. I would suggest if you are boosting it this high, and youve upgraded the injectors, that you get some fuel management. This will eliminate the possibility of detonation as your A/F level will be nominal...

The turbo is a T-25...

12 is the highest you should go with stock setup w/t-25, period.

so im guessing that if i throw on a 300z fule pump that my t-25 and motor will be good to 12 psi. I do have a fmic and i have done a header and full 3" exhaust. My water temp stays at 185 very consistantly. I dont have a fule management but i do have a apexi afc. Do you think with 12 psi that i could wreak my fmic? I will only be running 12 when im racing otherwise I will be at 7. I just want a little more quick power when i want it without getting detonation. Thanks

Don't bother getting a 300zx one (unless it is a direct fit and has better flow than the Walbro), just go Walbro or something. They only cost $150.00. Depending on the kind of intercooler, it should be good to 18-20. At 12 psi, with an upgraded fuel pump, id be most worried about the injectors. Crank it up, then if you hear pinging turn it back down...

you answered your own question. if you know that the turbo doesnt do much after 14-15psi, then you know that you can only go that high. doing any other mods wont allow you to run more boost if the turbo is out of its effieciency. And 16psi consistently on the t-25 will severely shorten the life of it. with all the other mods that you have listed, id look to do a turbo upgrade rather than trying to squeeze any more power out of the t-25
