I bought this TV two years ago from Soundsaround. Paid $599 + Tax.

Its got everything you need in a 27" TV:

3 Inputs: S-Video, Component Video and RCA.
1 Audio out
Remote
Manuals

Never a problem with it. Its a great looking and functioning TV. There is no difference between the new flat screens and this TV except for the screen.

It actually looks better than the flat screen I just bought but oh well.

So your saying the Pana-black is better than a Tau??

Do explain... and if thats the case, why don't ya just sell the Tau man?

Its actually strange. The Tau has sharper colors, but the Pana-black has a way smoother picture. I put on one of those tester DVDs and the Tau has nice crisp picture (blacks were black, reds were red), but the edegs were very jagged looking. The Panablack had softer color and softer edges making it look very smooth. Trade offs on each one.....both tested using S-Video and Component Video.

But I told my Mom and Stepdad that they could have the Tau any time they wanted for the same price I bought it for. I tried to surprise them with a coming home from the long weekend gift but Mom did not like the color....my Stepdad wants the TV though....so we will see.

But in the mean time, I am gonna keep it.

Bump:

Future Shop Sells the same Panasonic in Silver for $449, and the flat screen Tau for $499.

I just got back tonight. And the JVC is a VERY entry level TV for the price.

$300

I see, so the Tau is just sharper, I really liked it for when I played X-box and whatnot... really noticed a difference there.

The Tau is much sharper....its strange. The Panablack is super smooth, but not as defined as the Tau. Both are great Tvs though.

And yeah it would be way better on video games. ;)
