man, go to the dealer and check out the performance upgrades dodge offers. they are all legit factory high performance parts. thats the great thing about the srt-4. you can mod it through the dealer for quite reasonable, and without hurting your warranty (major major plus)

DC Sports just came out with a super nice Stainless Steel 3" cat-back exhaust system. The down-pipe will soon be available also. There is also Carbon Fiber Hood/Trunk Lid made by Fiber Images available for the SRT-4!!!

any questions? Feel free to email me: [email protected]

Another board member has Stage 2 and the car goes like a scalded dog, it's crazy! The only problem is it's VERY tough to find now (backordered).

The Mopar catback is nice and will be fine up to 300 whp. You're going to want some stiff engine mounts (I recommend deyemeracing) to keep the wheel hop to a minimum. The Mopar short throw is pretty nice too. :D

Not sure about bodykits, those aren't my thing. The CF hoods look good thought.

Ha ha, in the US where this guy is from...

SRT-4 MSRP + $8000 = 350Z MSRP

I would take the SRT-4 over the 350Z. Not enough power out of a stock 350Z, if I were to buy one budgeting in another 10k for mods would be a must.

Ever been in an SRT-4? The car has a Quaiffe LSD stock. You don't get much better. Wheel hop on the SRT-4 is largely due to the motor rocking back and forward, PARTICULARY because it's tourquey. Watching the car with stock mounts on the dyno is scary, the motor nearly jumps out of the engine bay!

Can you explain why the SRT-4s I've driven with filled mounts don't wheel hop? And the ones with stock mounts wheel hop like a bastard.

This is a known fact with FWD cars and I've seen it personally many times. Jeez, even with the first gen Neons it's a commonly known thing, filled mounts control wheelhop. Don't be lol'ing at things you are 100% wrong about.

On one hand I see where you are coming from. But on the other, for $8k he can get full coilovers, easy 300 whp (more if he swaps turbos) and some nice apperance mods. In other words he should be able to have a mid-low 12 second car that handles like a go cart.

no i havent been in a neon srt-4, and dont think i will, its not something i would like to be driving. :)

but like i said i wasnt sure, so get new engine mounts! i'm not a mechanic, i just know how to be a race car driver... per se. ;)

i dont have an LSD, i know it would help, but i get mad hop on new tires, once they're broken it in goes away forever. ah well, i guess we should stop peeling out then huh.

Mounts would be the first thing for sure. deyeme racing mounts tamed my wheel hop unbelievably.

You should be able to find stage II for 1300-1400US. www.manciniracing.com

Bart is pretty cocky for someone driving a TDi. It doesn't take a "racecar driver" to know that his far underpowered and dare i say more unreliable ride can't even be compared to a SRT4.

Get the hookup with one of These (http://www.lovefab.com/MiniMe/srt2.jpg) bad boys. I got a ride in his car, when he was running the SC61 it made 400 WHP and 400 WTQ, but when I got a ride he was running a T3/T67. Mind blowing to say the least, and I'm sure you could do a setup like that for under 8K.

I just can't stand the interior of the neon. I don't care how much HP it has, it's still FF.

I would buy an srt4 in a heartbeat!, I have read a few articles on that car and the internals are very impressive. The mopar drag team is making close to 1000 hp on a stock bottom end, minus pistons and rods. they are advertised at 215 hp at the crank, but in reality put out over 230 at the wheels, bone stock. Very impressive car, hopefully there will be some way to get over the stigma of being a neon... or even being a chrysler.. lol
if they could come up with a good front end conversion that might help.

The SRT-4, winter driving machine at its finest.

But jokes aside, you can't compare a gutless 350z with the inexpensive SRT-4 -- apples and oranges.

That pic has a pretty f**king sick story attached to it. The guy was on a dealer test drive, and the salesman racked (driving like a complete asshole) it up through a fence. The guys head got torn wide open - half his scalp ripped off and their was blood all over the car.

I saw it originally on SRTforums. The guys scalp was stitched back on, and he was in bad shape, he was upbeat, but I rememebr the words like "I'm not out of the woods yet" in terms of infections, and healing... He probably is driving something else from DCX now, like a Mercedes Sl55 Rofl... I'd have sued likeno other.. :nut:

after going through an ordeal like that, the sight of the interior again would make a guy uneasy just driving it. i would think anyway.:dunno:
