Stampede is really not a time to save money. If you don't wanna spend the cash, then most likely you're not gonna have fun.

If you don't mind walking a few blocks you can find free parking.

lol, I tried this one year...let's just say it didn't turn out so hot haha, ended up down twice the amount I was going for to buy above said items...probably would have been better to just have gone and bought the stuff instead of trying to get it for free.

IMO, Stampede time is not the time to be stingy. You can't have any fun there if you don't relax the purse strings. Everything there costs a lot of money: food, rides, admission, games etc. However to truly take in the Stampede experience you have to do most of these things, otherwise your better off staying home.

Although you can't control how much things are at the Stampede, I found that by creating a set budget for myself ahead of time (~$100) I can avoid overspending, which I find is very easy to do.

you can proberly find some parking far ass away for 5 bucks, but did you know that the roundup center parking lot (the one you see on your left after you get off the c-train) is actually only 7 bucks, so look for a chinese kid name calvin and i'll try to getcha a good spot, tips are welcomed :D

Bring WATER, and lots of it, if ur planning to stay for a few hrs, any fluid is a MUST HAVE, u'll dehydrate very quick if its gonna be that plus 20 degress

as for saving money, there's tons of free parking if ur willing to walk, but my suggestion is take the C-train, it gets u rite to the park, and u don't havta worrie about ur car, plus calgary transit has opened up a few stampede express routes, u might wanna check to see if there's one near u

this is probably going to sound stupid, but do think that there would be any point in me going? i have a fractured foot, and i just don't think that it would be a good idea to be down there with all the people while i'm on crutches....

:dunno:

nah especially with all the drunk kids bumping around, your sure to get knocked over, or someone step on your foot. I mean you could try it, but its risky...plus side, if someone bumps you, you can just clobber them with ur crutches, and if he tries to attack you, everyone around you should come to the aid of a disabled man :D

I was there on the preview night and one of the new rides is extremely gay. It's like a supersized version of those little kid rides in the malls that goes around in circles vertically on a wall.
