ahh yes the ever beautiful mr2..the red one that every one likes so much is owned by JDMMR2 on the mr2 board...wide body, with a td06 turbo kit, and volk grams light rims...the car is almost completely stripped inside which is cool but I prefer daily luxuries, the next mr2 I have never seen before..nice find Ekliptix, the dark purple one with the headlight conversion is owned by an dold dude named jim griffin..aka the beast...extremeky well built car, a huge amoun tof money invested, the light blue mr2 with the jdm twing is owned by a dude named Palo...mostly cosmetic enhancements.....the silver mk2 posted by james is owned by rob vitari....mods are exterior, interior and engine....
when my car is finished this spring I hope for it to be one of the finest examples of mr2 modifying out there:thumbsup:

There are Tons of different kits to make MR2's look like all kinds of Ferrari's.....Kinda Chessy IMO...Although they CAN be made to look pretty nice, its just not right, its not a Ferrari its an MR2, thats already good enough!:D

Can someone explain to me when the MR2 had the taillight change to the round ovals in the rear instead of the flat style? thanks I just wanted to catch up on some homework

James
11-05-2002, 03:47 AM
The "ovaled" Taillights are the 94+ ones, 90-93 were Flat:thumbsup:

This is how the Taillight conversion is done.

As James ais they are the 94+ tailights only available on US model and japanese model cars (not canadian), it incorporates 2 rear corners signals, the rear tailamps, a color matched middle with the reverse lamps built in....a fairly pricey modification but definitaly worth it:thumbsup: Made my car look so much better when I did it

Juhn are you planning on doing the trunk mount ic yourself because i will definitely give you a hand, im thinking about doing it on mine as well,Im just scared to hack up my beloved car. Do you have an ic core yet, if not I can get you a pretty good price on an apexi core. For that turbo kit I would recomend a 40mm tial wastegate, that shoudl be more than enough for the goals you have, anyways man let me know if you need anything:thumbsup:

Hey Juhn , did you hear LB finally dynoed his car!!!!!...here are his results.
Well, All the local tuners I planned to hire went to SEMA except my good old buddy Yoshio from Japanese Automotive. I must say, Yoshio is very moderate with the timing, which is safe so I'm not sorry. We started the day late, around 6 o'clock, and said he had a dinner party and had to leave by 8:30 ... So I said lets skip the street tuning and start with C16 under high boost. We started the night at 18 psi since he did some street tuning and the car seemed ready for it. I pushed well past 400 rwhp by the 3rd run on the dyno, and I was pretty content with my power. Then I noticed that Yoshio had not played with the duty on my boost controller, so I pumped it upto 60%. Worked like a charm, the car decided to push 24-25 psi right away. Since Yoshio wanted to play it safe because I am going to the track tomorrow, we only ran the car at 10 degrees advance, which is very low with 116 Octane gas. Anyway, to make a long story short, I surpassed my goals and made 536 RWHP @ 7700 RPM & 379 LB's of Torque @ 6600 RPM !!! Not bad for 2 hours on the dyno at mild timing guys ... We plan to go back on and push for 600 rwhp on Tuesday, IF I don't break it at the track today.

Story about after the dyno. Luck had it, my best friend Joe got his C5 back from Augestino Racing today. He got a C5R Lemans block stroked out to 436 cubes. He made 500 RWHP @ 500 LB's of Torque. So we were heading to the shop to work on the cars, and decided to go for a pass on the go ... Second gear he tried to jump me, but I was expecting it =) So I leaned into the gass and the car started to break loose like crazy on the street tires (255/40/17 S02's) Anyway, I short shifted into 3rd under 7000 rpm, and we were side by side. Once I passed 6000 rpm, I pulled HARD on him !!! I pulled a good 3 cars before we let off and BOY the car SCREAMS !!!!

mmm gotta love the gt35r ball bearing
