hard drive install help...

I isntalled a second hard drive in my computer. Everything works, teh computer sees it etc...

But its drive letter is "f". I have "c" and 2 dvd's at d and e... anyway to get the second ahrd drive to "d" and move the dvd's up one letter?

what os? if xp, go to administrative tools then mess around in there, i know i got it to work like that. dont remember off hand right now..

Be careful when doing that.

Some program executables that will look for something at D:\ or E:\ may not find the right thing now ;)

Best way is to use partition magic to re-assign drive letters. It goes through all the cross references in programs and changes the letters to the right thing.

If you are noticing that some of your programs that run off CD or DVD are not working, you might wanna look into this :)
