Pathfinder VG30DE/VG30DETT

My 93 Pathfinder's engine (VG30E) is about to go and I am thinking about a swap from a 300ZX... Is this even possible? Has anybody heard of anyone that has done this? Any information would be very helpful.

The single turbo is much easier than the twin turbo. The single turbo requires some fab work but is doable. The twin turbo requires extensive front end modification. If the 300zx is non turbo, you can pretty much bolt in with just a few small swaps of the ecu, etc, etc.

What's the problem with your stock engine?

i would say the same
that three liter vg30e was used in almost all of nissan's line up .

i think the 300zx vg30e had a little different heads and the intake was different .


best thing u can do is find a 300zx with a good engine buy it and take all the stuff u need or may not need then part out the rest . that way u will have every engine component at ur disposal.

ud need a front clip, thas all really, possbily a different driveshaft...

u don't need a new drive shaft if u are useing your old tranny .
if ur useing a new tranny make sure it will work with ur transfercase!

if u need extra room in front of the radiator u can use an electric fan instead of the pully style poo crap.

Your better off swapping another VG30E, the turbo engines run at much higher rpms and your gearing in the pathfinder wont be feasible (sp?). The Pathfinder VG's have more torque at the low end which you need for an SUV like ours.

The VG30DE is not a turbo though, just a twin cam version of a VG30E with about 50 more horsepower.. the VG30DETT looks like it would be very difficult to install anyway, and I don't know if turbo lag and offroading mix too well either!!!

Why not just rebuild the engine on your own and do some head work and maybe add a header and a cam.
