Yeah, I've been watching this guy for the last little while. I think I caught him back on his 7th win or something, and watched every now and then to see if he was still around. Even though he's Mormon, he still manages to nail quite a bit of alcohol related topics!

And that news article is a day behind. Today was his 30th victory and his current winnings are at $1,004,960.

Interestingly enough, the shows we're watching right now were filmed back in February/March with 5 games a day. He's back home in Utah right now and can't talk about the games until they've aired. This can mean that he's either been beaten or that the season's taping has run out before he's had a chance to lose and he would return next season. Prior to this, I believe the record holder for longest running wins was 7 or 8. The highest amount for a daily win was $52,000, which he's tied twice already. I think the most amount of returns anyone's had in any game was 42. it'll be interesting to see if Ken beats that.

I've watched this guy a few times as well... he's pretty intense

but i thought they usually cut people off after 5 wins...

must suck for the people who jump through all kinds of hoops to get onto jeopardy, only to play against him

i don't think he'll lose, the only reason he'll stop is proberly if the crowd is tired of him or they've lost enough money to this geek they're banning him from jeopardy

Jeopardy had a rule of 3 days or something, but the new season they decided to throw that rule, and what better time than to have someone named Ken come on.

5 days and then they gave you a new sports-car.

This guy is amazing, the scores after the first round are like 10000,0,100

Must suck for the soccer moms.

He's really impresive to watch, he'll run like 2 or 3 categories in a row, and finish the 2 rounds with like 30,000$ and the other 2 people will have like 400$ each.

Astonishing! I didn't think such a streak was even possible! It must suck for the other contestants because they have virtually no hope!

Nobody's even come close to him. I've been watching since about his 10th consecutive win and each time it seem as though he can blow $15K on final Jeopardy and still win.

I would think that if anybody beats him, that person would go on to have a crazy streak as well, unless that particular person is having an amazingly lucky day, while Mr. Ken Jennings has an amazingly unlucky day at the same time.

I can seriously see this happening, or the competition could get tougher, as the people with photographic memories, and people with PhDs start appearing to make a quick buck. Even though the people with photographic memories and/or PhDs are comfortably rich, they'll still go on, just to break the record.

I'm stereotyping people with photographic memories, and PhDs; they aren't all rich.

actually most of them now have insurance companies that cover the tax portion or something. i know on who wants to be a millionare, they said the winners take home the amount on the cheque, and the taxes are covered.
