Even with my accident last winter, a 24 hour suspension (dont know if it's on the record), 1 month suspension for getting 15 demerits, and a stunting ticket (for squeeling my bald tires), after 4.5 years of driving, my insurance has dropped my rate by over $1200/year .I now pay around 280/month from 390 this year, and 450+ the summer before. Maybe a clean reccord for a year straigh (minus the accident of course) helped :dunno: or maybe it's the new reforms who knows. I guess i'm gonna vote for our drunk premier again this year

every year you go accident and ticket free, your rate will drop A BIT. You are by no means a low risk driver, so the majority of the decrease is most likely due to the reform...

my fucking rates better be going down A LOT then. I've had a couple tickets more than a couple years ago, and no accidents. $200 a month would be good for me :)

Sweet G. ;)

I hope I get a nice letter in the mail. I have a clean record and I am paying $214 a month for full coverage.

$150 a month would be nice. I have been driving for 5 years and I have a clean record.

How do you afford $300 a month in insurance? I pay $66, age has it's advantages :D

:werd:

Thats why Young drivers got the biggest break on insurance.

(BTW, $300/month is actually cheap for some drivers....My insurance with my last company would have been $390/month with an ABSOLUTELY clean driving record on my 12 year old car).

How can a post secondary student afford to pay $300+ per month, pay for expenses and get good grades at school?

Answer: It cannot happen without help or change.

Did they just drop without a renewal??

I sure hope mine come down... my one and only speeding ticket should be coming off my record in the next few days.

They're allowed to "fuck us so bad" because we make much more money per capita than saskachewan.

heh...that has nothing to do with it....in sask its run by the govt - no one is lining thier pockets with ins money....in AB here insurance companies cleared over $260million in PROFIT last year. That's where the money goes....

Resurrecting an old thread in disgust.

Got my renewal today, was super stoked, been a good boy, no new tickets this year, never ever made any claim in my entire driving carreer, and all I have is 2 demerits from 2 years ago on my record. I've also turned 21 giving me 4 and a bit years of driving experience, versus 20 and 3 years last renewal.

I'm expecting my rate to decrease.

They have no reason what so ever to raise my premium, as I have nothing new on my record, and LESS demerits than I had last renewal.

But no, those sneaky assholes found a way to still jack my premium!

Magically, they raised the class my car is in from a class 11 to a class 14. WTF!!! so yeah, up goes my premium when I thought they couldn't.

WTF is this bullshit. Reading the lettter Re: Bill 53 or 58 or whatever the fuck it is, it says they cant raise your rates if nothing on your policy changes, but in small print, oh yes, spelled out as if to say "Ha! We found a loop hole to dry-fuck you nice and good when you least expect it". Rates may increase due to vehicle classifications which changes all the time. So my car, which is becoming worth less and less, is more and more expensive to insure.

I call and rant, he says it's because I have 1000000 liability, that it is so high. I ask what is the difference if I lower it, and he replies 1000000 is the minimum. hahaha, what a tool. Eggs me on and then at the end "PSYCH!"

I would have been ok if my premium stayed the same, but for it to go up, for no other reason other than to weasle every dime outta ya, thats just cruel.

No wonder people abuse the system. One big vicious circle

My insurance drops about $3k a year in 19 days on my 21st birthday. I have a bunch of accidents that don't affect my premium suprisingly. It's the tickets and license suspension that I have that keep my rates high. Lucky for me... those all come off very shortly! Back to cheap insurance! Horray!

turning 23 a month ago put me into a different age group with my ins company. $3 drop in rates a month... what a crock! 1.5%
