Does beyond really use 80GB/day in bandwidth?

Here are the stats for last week.

For the forums :

The total amount of bandwidth transferred during the selected week is 16.88 GB (2.41 GB/day average)

For our images/video hosting :

The total amount of bandwidth transferred during the selected week is 23.93 GB (3.42 GB/day average)

It's quite busy :D.

As for 80GB/day, I think we've hit it once with a big video that was hotlinked everywhere (dumb ass civic driver spinning out and crashing video hehe). We've restricted hotlinking now... when we used to allow hotlinking, the images/video hosting server was going at an average of 40GB/week.

That is nuts. Do these boards not have compression software coded into them?

I don't host videos on my site but my traffic is fairly consistent with an average of 2 million hits/mth and my bandwidth is only around 11GB/mth.:dunno:

Yes, that's with compression taken into account. As for hits, we're near 2 million hits a week now.
