GOLD MEDAL TOUR (http://goldmedaltour.ca/EN/intro.asp)

If you guys don't know, Chrysler is rolling through Calgary next week with the tour. What is it? It's sort of like a gigantic Chryler test drive. You register in advance online, and then go to the event when you are scheduled.

I went today in Edmonton at Bud Park. There were 3 areas to mess around in.

1. The ESP area, where you can drive the 300C, Magnum, Crossfire, PTcruiser, etc and try out the handling and driver's aids (you drive, alone).
2. The offroad area, where you take trucks on their obstacle course (you drive, alone).
3. The SRT area. Each person gets a ride in the SRT-4, the SRT-10 Ram, and the Viper (ride shot gun with a "pro").

Lucky for us in Etown, the SRT section was the Bud park drag strip. We got to go for full throttle blasts down the strip, and then a rip down the return road in each of the three cars SRT vehicles.

Pics suck, but I was just snapping them while waiting in line. Register your self, I think it's worth it.

I went today in Calgary,
4 areas

ESP- 300C & Magnums you can take full speed on a little course in a parking lot (went around about 10 times, burnt rubber was present)
Off road- pics above
Test drive- drive a Crossfire or whatever in a pack around Spruce meadows with a cop following you.
Thrill rides, those were nice too

Along with a free soda and bag of chips it was a good way to spend a couple hours.

Just got back as well, I wish they would have let us take the Crossfires on the 300/Magnum road course, but it was still pretty cool.

ACX and I were out there this morning. What was funny is we drove up in an SRT-4 and they wouldn't let you drive one  . It was actually a fun time. Going around the mini track in the SRT cars was fun. The guy pulled a sweet drift in the SRT-4 for us, I thought he was going to roll the damn thing! Of course riding in the Viper and Ram SRT were fun as well. There were beating the crap out of those poor vehicles. Off roading was mildly amusing and the Magnum/300C drive was very fun. We didn't feel like waiting for an hour for the Crossfires though.

All together a big thanks to Chrysler for a fun event!!!

I've got some little vids of all the SRT's on the track, if I get it loaded somewhere I'll post it. Kinda interesting.

I went there today in Calgary.
The SRT "Thrill" course was amazing. Those guys (and girl) track drivers were completely hammering those cars. They were all doing amazing drifts around the corners but the guy in the SRT-10 RAM was totally awesome. I thought the RAM SRT would be the most boring but he completely had the truck totally sideways around the entire curve...amazing. :poosie:
I should also say I have some new respect for the SRT-4 (neon) that car has some pretty good pull in 2nd gear and the chick driver knew how to rip it up.
The off road was kind boring, but it was kinda cool taking the 300 around the mini course a few turns.
The crossfire was a complete letdown on the street course, no jam at all. Hopefully when the turbo model comes out next year it will be more of a true roadster car.
It is totally worth the 2 hours if you can make it down.
