I use Meguiars Regular and High Gloss Gels. Both work great. Parts Source has them if Ctire doesn't.

I currently use the turtle wax wet and black, and I personally like the stuff, I used to use the meguires purple gel, and it worked great, but left a hefty amount of residue, and was a pain to scrub it off after a few applications.

Use wheel polish. It's also good for polishing exhaust tips.

take it to the car wash to pressure spray all of the brake dust and grime off...then at home...well Adam's...simple green it, and rinse...then dry VERY thouroughly and then paint, paint, paint...

*EDIT*...from look at your wheels when I was up...a fine grit paper should do...800 or so...just kinda scuff it up...then wash them again to get all the dust off, then dry again THOUROUGHLY then paint my friend...
