Hey,

Need quick help. Have they been known to haggle and stuff on prices? Think I can knock a bit off of what they're asking? Also, are they good/honest people to deal with?

Need this help ASAP, thanks!

ZR auto is not all about Exotics.

Granted, they have the BEST and largest selection of exotics anywhere in Calgary, but they have very reasonable prices on regular cars too.

Try to haggle. He is a dealership first, and an exotic dealership second - probably sells only a handful of these 200k cars a year anyways.

I think they are OK, and seems most of their cars are in fair price too ! ( beside few 300Z TT and Rx7 ! )

It's a sweet Golf! I believe it was listed $2000 higher than its current asking price when it first arrived at ZR Auto.

It's been sitting in his dealership for over a year now.
I'm sure you could negotiate... and buy it for a price you want it for.

i didn't trade it in. The fellow to whom I sold the car to traded it for an NSX I believe. I purchased the car in December of 1998, and the project was complete in October 2000 when it was featured in the then, Max Power USA magazine.

I wonder what their finance rates are? I was checking out some of the Porsches and BMW's, most of their cars require a larger down payment ($15K) on a three year lease but the residuals fairly low ($15K).

That golf is crazy. Too much $$$ if you ask me. You can get into a Corrado for that price. Theres a reason why its been there for that long.

That Golf has a ton of mods and features...that set it apart from any other Golfs you may encounter...

Yeah it's a sick Golf, only thing holding me back is the reliability issues involved in running a G60, especially an EXTENSIVELY modified G60.. and to add, I have 0 mechanical knowledge. Still unsure if I want it.

Is it me, or does the hood look ill fitting. Maybe the angle? :dunno:

The hood and front bumper seem a bit off.. that worries me about the care for this car

Ya I know. I've seen the car in perosn and even talked to the original owner couple years ago at the C-1 show.

I've heard about some tuning problems with this exact car before. For that price you could buy a golf like mine and drop a VR6 in and do whatever you wish to the body and interior.

EDIT: Sorry I thought he was still trying to sell it for $18,000.

I just think there are better cars out there for $13,000.

I'll throw in my 2c since I probably know the car like the back of my hand.

The G-lader was blowing when I did the engine transplant. The motor had 110,000KM on it at the time. As such, the supercharger was sent away to Kompressor Kanada for a full rebuild/group A spec bore out. It can't have more than 5000KM on the rebuilt charger.

The hood sits a little high, only because the Bonrath polished hood struts cause it to sit this way. Remove those, using the original prop rod, and there shouldn't be any problems.

I think that for $13K, the car is extremely good value. Trust me, there is at least $40K into that project, and worth every penny of it.

I have some pics of the work in progress if any potential buyers are interested...

Look at me...trying to sell a car I no longer own!! :D

I saw the car in its original state, and have seen the slow build up of Project Golf...and for the money that ZR is asking you like Asif had said are getting an INCREDIBLE car...

Asif was meticulous in its care and maintenance...
