I think that lens is around $1,000 anyway, a bargain for the L lens !

Even go to Camerastore, that lens is not expensive. :) and probaby hard to find a used one, since it is quite new, and people love it, and it fits D-SLR perfect !

Go to Don's photo if you are going to buy new.

I got my 16-35 2.8L for nearly the same price as B&H (after shipping and all that jazz).

the camera store... i think thier website showed something liek $12XX when i last checked.. maybe instore is a diff price..

cameracanada.com has good price, but apparently they have a bad rep with Canon Canada.. sometimes they take awhile to get canon items instock(i checked thier site yesturday, 17-40 not instock)

meh, not in a big rush to buy...

also looking for a 24-70 f2.8 L for decent price(average price for used is $1300 i think) will buy 1 of the 2 lenses...depends which i can find.

Go with the 17... trust me. The 28-70 you will find is not wide enough when you are in a tight spot.

errr...the 24-70 heeh not 28-70...
yeah i would like teh 17-40 for its wide.. esp. with the 1.6x crop.

i have not bought it yet, i'll probally wait till i am back in Calgary later this month and see what kind of price Camera Store can give me.

there is a canadian ebay store selling it new for $899, after tax and shipping its about $970
