I need some insurance help. Can a car be registered in one persons name and the insurance be registered in another as long as their related or something? Could anyone help me find an official statement that says this if it is true? I'd appreciate any help you guys could give me!

You're in Ohio, you might want to check a local board. Most people here are from Calgary - local rules might be different. The situation comes up in Canada often enough when a high risk driver doesn't qualify for coverage under the registered owner's plan - so they are specifically excluded off the registered owner's plan and required to get their own policy.

There are other situations that could cause a person to take out insurance on a car that is registered in someone else's name but again, the best place to check is locally. GL
