Radar recommendation

I was thinking about buying a radar for a few road trips I'm going on this summer, and was wondering if you guys/gals use them at all and if so do you have any recommendations?

They come in handy especially for road trips.

I think the best bang for you buck is the passport models.
I think mines a passport 8500.

The top 2 are either the passport 8500 or the valentine 1 depending who you ask. Myself I use the 8500.

Dont cheap out though, the cheaper models wont help you.

I got my Passport 8500 for $250. It was used for about 10 months before I got it.

There's a new Passport 8500 X50. You can also get it with a blue display. Matches the newer VW instrument lights very well.

I'm a fan of the V1, seen it in action more then once. My detector has saved me more then once and it pales in comparison to both the 8500 and V1. IMO worth the money because if it saves you from two tickets you get your money back. At the same time don't think you can speed excessively without getting a ticket, the detectors can only do so much. I would go off ebay for sure, I believe with V1 as long as you get the original codes etc... you can send away for free updates hence making the V1 the last radar detector you'll ever have to buy.

Nuh uh. You can send away for updates, but not free updates. It costs like $200 to upate your v1.

i currently use a whistler...i cant complain because i got it for 20 bucks american....it does its job sometimes its kinda too late but so far it has done its job a few times for the amount i paid....but im thinking if getting an escort or V1 still
