I'm up for it, as long as I know the date and time a couple weeks in advance, and this date can not change. If that happens I have no excuse not to come.

I think banff would be fun.

Maybe we could hit the hot springs! So long as the ladies are up for it. :D :bigpimp:

Skyline_Addict

Maybe we could even integrate some sort of a hiking/mountain biking event into this? Depending on what people feel like doing, of course. Just making some suggestions for what we can do once we reach our destination. :D

Those dates, sound good. Hopfully the car is still running lol.. Banff?

freakin
07-28-2004, 07:49 AM
I'd be in for this. As long as it's a weekend and I have at least a week's notice, I should be fine. Aug. 22 seems like a good date to me.

Waiparous would be fun, but there's no way in hell I'm taking my car down that road.

The mountain biking sounds like a good idea as well. If we end up going to Elbow Falls, then we can use the trails in that area. Hell, if we can get some trucks involved, we can even shuttle up Moose mountain (assuming the road is still open, haven't been there for a couple years).

22nd sounds good. So Elbow falls? My car *should* be back togeather again. It's undergoing surgery, my intake manifold gasket had a bad seal (crease/cut in the gasket) on one of the intake channels, and one in the coolant channel..(fel-pro SUX) hopefully parts are available for me..This time OEM *bites nails*

the yellow lines are where the crease/cuts were

You get to elbow falls by following 22x west. I'd suggest meeting somewhere in the south, like Revy in Shawnessey so that the group doesn't get split up driving through town.

You can also take Glenmore west to Highway 8, then head towards Bragg Creek, then off to 22x.

I the route would depend on where people want to meet up before heading down.

I'm pretty sure there's small fire pits simmilar to what you'd find in Fish Creek out there. It's been a while since I've actually walked around there. But there is a big ass parking lot, so worse case scenario, we set up the BBQ's there.

Are people still interested in taking the mountain bikes out there?

As for BBQ's why doesnt someone just bring a portable BBQ... you know those small ass ones that run on propane that people take to camping. I have one but it takes a pretty long time to cook food.

Elbow falls has lots of sites where there are bbq's up there so basically all you need to bring is your own food and something to start a fire and we should be eating in no time. lol

We can all just meet somewhere in bragg creek and go from there...i mean everyone is coming from diff sides of the city.

Yes, their are alot of places you can stop and use bbq pits, i also have a mini coal bbq i can bring up

alright, so just in case people who has a min BBQ just bring that.

and i still perfer if we meet up first then cruise down together with like 20+ cars! well, its call a cruise for a reason right?:D just somewhere close to the edge of city a road where u kinda HAVE to take to get there....

i'll get a new thread goin soon, as soon as we get the meeting location and some other stuff sort out.

would it not be better to meet in westhill seeing how you are going to bragg creek

qrankz
08-06-2004, 06:22 AM
Mind if I join in? It'll be my 1st beyond meet I guess.

As for meeting spot, shawnessy would be a good spot. Home Depot in Shawnessy or the Coliseum.

freakin
08-06-2004, 09:17 AM
Why not have 2 meeting spots? One for the north people and one for the south. Or just do what we did for the Integra meet. Half of the people met at one spot, then went the next to pick everyone else up.

That, or have 2 groups taking different routes and meeting up at Elbow Falls.

Team_Mclaren
08-06-2004, 10:42 AM
well, the idea is to have one huge group of people all dirving down right?:D

i wouldnt mind meeting with people in the north first, then go to the south meeting spot together, im sure me and a few north people are gonna meet up together first. so just need a south/main meeting spot.

and people, my car looks like shit too, so just coe out haha

freakin
08-06-2004, 11:18 AM
I realize that....but it seems like people can't decide on a meeting place.

Why don't we just use the upper parking lot of Chinook. Everyone seems to know where that is, it's relatively central and not that far out of the way. Afterwards we just take Glenmore straight on to HWY8.

Nice and easy, just need a meeting time.

The problem with that is people will get seperated driving across the city due to lights and crap..

I think there should be a North and South meeting spot, then a meet at bragg creek at a specific time and place.

I think thats a very good point, someone should find a meeting place around city limits so that everyone that is going meets there, then we all cruise out to elbow falls. That way, no one gets left behind!

freakin
08-06-2004, 12:29 PM
That's why the Revy in Shawnessy is a good meeting place. No lights, just head straight on to 22x and head west.

I've made my suggestions.....I'll just wait and see what's decided on. I'll meet where-ever.

alright, so we'll have a north and south meeting spot, the north people will meet up to get to the south spot, then we'll head on together, hows that sound?

south would be Home Depot in Shawnessy
north would be deerfoot mall? (or suggestions?)

and what time?
i suggest:

north would be 10:20
south would be 11:00

that way we have around half an hour to get down there, north would be leaving at 10:30

freakin
08-06-2004, 01:10 PM

South Meet should be at HOME DEPOT .

North should meet in signal hill.. i know its S.W, but its better for easier access, or they can meet in cochrane and drive the other way to bragg creek..
