I was gonna recommend it anyway...:D

If you have an MP3 player it's perfect.. if not, burn some of these to CD. (Some are too long for a CD, like the 2-hour Tiesto at ClubSpace I am listening to. Recommend it!)

I generally pick upbeat music (trance, electronic, hip-hop, etc) when on a long drive to keep myself awake.

Try a looking for a few songs from here (http://www.energydancehits.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=125). They're mostly dance with a few trance tracks. Otherwise, look for full albums on the web or however you get your music.

everytime im long hauling (even between edmonton/calgary) and get a bit tired, pop a few boston pizza mints and turn on trance (usually and essential mix of sorts). nothing else works quite as well (aside from uppers! haha). get a bit of sugar to help you catch a second wind then trance to keep you going. i find laughing/smiling helps a lot so grab some live comedy sets while your at it. generally good for an hour of laughs. i could use some ideas here though, whats some funny shit?

for trance...how about trance control? I think they're pretty good...dont listen to much techno anymore tho.

About the comedy, Dave Chappell, Robin Williams, Chris Rock. ALL good...lots a swearing though :P

Nothing quite beats a satellite radio! I did the long haul from Dallas to Edmonton - 3500 KM's and crossed through 6 states. You can only listen to so much of one thing before you go insane, so satellite radio is great.

I find trance is good for driving at night, during the day I'd prefer hip hop/jpop/chinese music

When I need to burn a bunch of music in a short time, I'd rip the shoutcast stream with this:

http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/

It separates songs by stations > file names, leave it on ripping away for the nite and pick what you like :)

chill out tunes that are good. Nice summer drive, specially when the sun begins to set. They are relaxing and dont repeat every two seconds like some trance. I like trance, but some do not and will give them a serious head ache.

Renaissance Anthems is good

Hotel Costes series are good to listen to

Renaissance Ibiza by deep dish is good. older but nice.

The Politics of Dancing paul van dyk - basically anything from paul van dyk is good.

Chillout Sessions: Summer Collection 2004 - ministr of sound.

Beautiful Tomorrow - blue six. really chilled music more like soho style lounge. its nice and chilled.

Hed Kandi: Es Vive Ibiza 2003 -- hed kandi, more various artist mixes, they have a huge selection of cd's. good stuff. from chilled, to disco, to house.

thats my 2 cents.

cheers
