I was wondering if you guys could help me in deciding wether to buy this car or not. It's a 1995 BMW M3, some notes are:
- asking 23,900 (but i can trade in my truck thats worth 3,000)
- 290 Hp
- 120 somethin miles (almost 200K)
- Automatic
- one previous owner
- no accidents
- tiny scratches (its black so they show quite well)
- Pirelli tires...back tred is low(i guess too many burn outs:dunno:); front tred is good-----> not sure of the percentage
- 18" Hamann Design PG3 Alloys ( tho the website says they only come in 19", so could be missprint)

Other than that theres nothin much else to say:dunno:. I took it for a drive and it was beautiful. The only thing i'm worried about is the mileage and i'm not sure if thet price is right. If you guys could help me out that would be awesome .

Peace

couple of things....i think the price is a little too high. should be able to get it for under 20,000.00. not much under but still, barter with the guy/dealer.

you have to make sure the previous owner didn't beat the shit out of the car. was it driven on the track at all? how hard was it pushed and for how long?

i take it it's an american car? did you get a carfax report?

is there an substatial and well documented service history? these are precision machines and as such need to be looked after.

minor scratches? well, what are you gonna do, you know? as long as they are not awful or pose a risk to the integrety of the metal then i wouldn't worry. get them fixed.

if you are not sure about the wheels, then measure them.

and personally, i wouldn't buy an M3 automatic (was optional on the 1995's), but that's just me.

1995 is a great year for teh tuning, so it's a nice buy if it's in good shape and a good price.

good luck!

Hey thanx guys... yea the car came from cali and i'm not entiely sure if it was raced, but judging by the tred on the back tires seems like it may have been drivin a lil hard:dunno: . With the automatic, it wasn't anything I've ever seen b4, but then again i don't drive many nice cars. It had 1 - 4 then drive which i found interesting cuz u could drive it like a stick but without the clutch not as fun but different. Thanx again for the advice, i'll take anything:thumbsup:

I'd be skeptical about the 290 HP claim if the engine is in its stock form. The S50 B30 3.0L engine is rated at 240 hp (SAE) at 6,000 rpm and 225 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm.

price is too high for current mileage...and its auto.......get mechanical inspection, and carfax/run the VIN...if it all cheks out offer the guy like 19 g's......if theres stuff wrong with it, subtract the price of repairs from 20 g's.

wicked car tho.

please stay away from these rip-off artists. I purchased a *mint* 1974 Porsche 911 Targa, SC conversion and less than 7000 k.m later the engine went kaput and they refused to do anything about it. They also failed to inform me that the car was a SALVAGE title, which is illegal in b.c not to disclose that. believe me when i had back there I will be gettin some money back from them.. can't sell someone a car for fucking 17 grand and then it die less than 1 yr later
