Pretty much same as a turbo, forced induction...but instead of feeding off exhaust gases to spin the turbine, it uses pullies.

so can a car have both turbo and supercharger?

Is your turbo custom installed? The car came with a factory supercharger but not with a turbo, so if you have a turbo now it must be twincharged.

A turbo has a turbine, spun by exhaust gases, that jams a load more intake air into the cylinders for more power potential. A supercharger has the same basic effect, but is spun by a belt connected to the crankshaft instead of by exhaust gases. Superchargers usually have less lag, just by the nature of the way they are spun, but are often heavier, and aren't usually as good as turbos for very high levels of performance. Both get the job done, which one you like better is personal preference.

Yes, but yours probably doesn't have both.

My biggest question is how the hell does someone drive a twincharged car without knowing it. Sounds like :bullshit: to me

I'm very sorry but a chrome Mac cold air intake kit is NOT a Turbo.

alright, he's kinda right, we've pounded him a little harshly. but to set things straight, don't make up a "my dad's friend's step-daughter's biological father is a mechanic" story. cause when you say the wrong thing but try to add cred to it, people on this forum will bash you. what i suggest is maybe taking a shop class, reading the posts on this site, and for god's sake, read some car mags. (the best education i ever did get was while i was sitting on the john)

Haha yeah that's the way we do things on Beyond, bash newbies hardcore...if you can't handle it then we don't want you, if you withstand it, you usually become accepted :D

If thats your car is appears to have a MAC cold air intake and some sort of an over drive pulley.
Visit www.sccoa.com for more information about the car
