Hey, my brother is a huge Mini fanatic, and he picked up this brit mag. A guy had a Vtec motor stuffed in his engine bay!! Is there anywhere where there's more info from Can. on this?? his car is a shitbox 1300cc. If we could somehow find a motor, this is going to be one helluva project.:) I could also donate my engine, even though it's non-vtec, and then I wouldn't have a motor for my car, which is only 4 years old...

there use to be a website out there, (and believe me, i've looked but cant find it anymore) where these guys had plans on how to build a sub frame to fit various honda motors in minis. Its very duable but requires alot of fab work. :D

I believe it's ZR Auto's car. Widebody mini with B18 turbo motor.

its a long and complicated process.

there's little mods you can do to the 1300 to get it moving a bit more, but stuffing a b series into the car requires you to take everything out completely, and draw up plans.

you'll hack apart the bay, make a new subframe and mounts, sort out tranny issues to fit the damn thing, then sort out the front suspension and whatnot.

they're sweet little cars, and 160+hp in one of those things would be nutty, but it's money and labour intensive.

I'm pretty sure ZR Auto owns it. It's was at Dr. Lightspeed's (not lightning heh) for tuning. I'm assuming it's done now?

I thought m10-power owned a turbo b18c mini. Seemed like a cool guy, but haven't seen him post much recently.

It's ZR Autos, unless he sold it to Dr. Lightspeed, that car is interesting I helped finish putting it together. Mainly to get it out of a friends hair as it was in his garage and we wanted to get on with building his V8 powered E36.

I don't believe it ever ran correctly(nor will), the turbo on it isnt good for much really, way too large of an turbine A/R and stage 5 if I remember correctly...wasn't my call. The owner wanted a track car and the 'builder' (loosely used here) tried to build a 1/4 mile racer...

It all reminded me of a certain TV show...The Gong Show.

Expensive pile of parts, proof that there is more to building something then the sum of its parts...

Yeah, we went and looked at the car(it's at my uncles house, north of slyvian lake). It's in pretty good shape, but doesn't run. It definately would be insane, a wolf in sheep's clothing to put it one way, but yeah, it looks like a lot of time and money. I think he'd better just stick to the mustang:)

I have some links to some minis with turbo 16v Suzuki engines and H22's in them. I'll find them and post them up when I get home.

VTEC mini (http://www.btinternet.com/~honda.mini/hybrids/VTEC/vtec.htm) Wicked, that sh*t is aweseome. It's pure hot-rodding at it's finest. anybody that can think this stuff up and run with it is truly a genius.
