View Full Version : Possible a drifting accident in my neighborhood street tonight

Tonight around 11:00 pm I was in my room, I heard tires skipping and squeaking noise then followed by a car crash noise. A car was crashed into my neighborhood backyard. People around went out to check. The owner of the damaged property was already questioning the young driver. The teenage male driver was scared and was not very welcome when people ask him questions. I went to see the tires marks on the road. With my limited car drifting experience I think that guy was TRYING to drift his Toyota Corolla. I had my flashlight on hand and I saw the rear tires were very rough with dead spots but the fronts were decent. I then ask that teen was it possible he is trying to drift his car. He only told me ¡§I pull¡K..pull that¡Khmmm that¡¨ I said ¡§alright¡K¡¨ he was still in shock. I guess it had answered my query mind. Police and firemen arrived not long after.

The victim¡¦s house constantly have 3~4 young children playing in the backyard almost everyday.

Please don¡¦t drift on residential streets otherwise disasters like that will always come up.

Thank you for viewing.

My camera was not good enough to pick up the minor marks on the road except the most obvious ones.

:banghead: :banghead: You've got to be kidding me. I love summer cause winter pisses me off. But is it just me or does stupidity drastically increase in good weather.:guns: :guns:

If that is what he was doing i hope they take his license.

there is no such thing as curfew for GDL drivers the only differences between GDL and your normal license is 8 demrits instead of 15 and absoulty zero alchol blood limit and no more passangers than seat belts ahah my drivers ed teacher said that curfew thing was juss to scare people

yes, you cannot drive legally after 12am. tickets are levied if you do. cops may let you off, but there is a law in place.

that was a pretty bad drift if it is was a drift. It looks like he just plain turned faster than the car could handle, and understeer owned him.
If he used ebrake to drift and really lost it, he would more likely have spun around, or atleast have got the rear end further out right?
Someone should tell him his car is not an 86!!!

there is a curfew, 11-5. I'd reccomend looking for a new drivers ed teacher, thats a little freaky that he told you to ignore the rules

that doesnt look like a drift...just a bad turn and a bad out of control skid. ive been in a tercel which is close enuf and pulling the ebrake will spin you around easily. n e ways...stop drifting in the residential streets! hah

Thats Bs i have a GDL License and I was paranoid about the curfew when I first heard about it so I asked the registry place and I drove down to the sundance police station just to ask. They both said no it is only if you have a GDL Learners License, If you have a GDL License then the only thing diffrent is you have to have a 0% blood alchol level, And we have 8 demerits instead of 16. And we can only have the same amount of people as seats (stated above)

the whole curfew thing is still in the works, they want to pass it, but it hasn't been completed yet, so as long as you get your GDL before it is legislated, then there's no curfew
as to having the same amount of people as seats, that goes for everybody, gdl or not
believe me, i know, i got so many tickets in my sunbird for having too many people in that thing :P
and it just makes sense, if theres more people than seats, theres not enough seatbelts, therefore, seatbelt tickets...so of course its for everybody, not just gdl

There is a curfew for GDL Learners drivers, not for GDL Driver's licenses.

The only restrictions for GDL Drivers are as follows:

- Must spend a minimum of two years as a Probationary Driver
- No more passengers than seat belts
- Fewer demerit points (8) are allowed than for fully licensed drivers
- Have a zero alcohol level
- No upgrading to a commercial licence
- Cannot serve as an accompanying driver to a Learner

Jason Lange

Actually all the GDL stuff applies to people who got their learners before GDL too, read the link I posted.
