haha, i knew i'd nail one of your common roads.. Actually they're not all that bad, My civic is probably an inch higher, but with dead shocks. 16th ave is the only street i have troubles on (so many big rigs, road looks like canals) anyway, As long as your uber carful, and 1 inch higher, you should be able to get around OK.. good luck!

Yeah, maybe I'll look into that air ride suspension. I know my buddy has it on his truck. I'm definitely not delivering pizzas in that thing or leaving it parked outside the Foothills Landscaping building. That thing would be gone by the end of the day in that area... (jokes but still wouldn't want to leave it in that area without me being in sight of it).

Was owned by a friend of mine, drove it year round daily. He managed to get around calgary and it was an inch and a half off the ground.

Wasn't that originally Paul's Jetta? Then sold to Mike? Paul has a brown one now about that height. I think they look pretty good like that.

That probe is quite a bit lower though. I'd guess that it has coilovers and was just set at that height for the show. Either that or some sort of air suspension.

Yes that car was built by Paul. He sold that gold one too now. You should see his beetle.

But don't listen to all of these wana-be lowrider guys. I drove my jetta and golf almost as low as Pauls for 5 years and have never had any problems like breaking oil pans and such. Sure I scraped a bit on my oil pan and front bumper and had to do 3-pt turns, but if you don't like the sound of scraping then stick with the 1'' springs. Going that low is not for everyone. If you cringe at the scraping sound then it is not for you. I love it when it scrapes!!
And I even went over speed bumps. The only ones that gave me problems was crowfoot schanks.
