Looks to me like the shadow was added after.

actually the bike was erased...

nope, the bike was photchopped out, you can tell by the blurring tool on the gate and brick driveway. Also notice the curvature of the left shoe, its arched in a way that is only possible if there is pressure on the arch of the foot. Also, the dude cgt careless and didn't add spokes to the rear wheel shadow, blowing the whole picture.
