Dude, not to knock you down but 10ish is a great deal for a GS, you can get either a GST or a GSX for 17ish which has all paper work ect. So why pay 16 for a Non-turbo car, which yeah can get for 10....a body kit doesnt add 6 G's

true. $10,500 is a good amount for a car with that many miles. I could probably barely sell my car for $13,000 and it is a 95, auto, rims & exhaust, with only 60,091 kilometers and it is mint.

Because the non turbo is not prone to crankwalk. Most of the 4g63 cars out on Cantrader have over 90000 miles. A buddy of mine bought a 97 TSi Mint with 92000 miles, it crankwalked at about 96500. Dont pay 17 grand for one with more than 60k miles on it. Especially the manual transmission one. You will spend another 3 grand replacing the engine or switching it to a seven bolt. Its costly.

This is also an eclipse were talking about. They are rare around here in Calgary. Give the guy some credit. I give the car value at around 14k. No need to low ball his ass down 6 grand. The car is worth more. Especially the import fees with that thing, the car customs and transportation would cost a good 5 grand just to get it here in good condition and legal.

Are you an appraiser? yes, okay fine it is an Eclipse and it might be worth $14000. no, okay fine it is an Eclipse and it might be worth $14000. But either way it is a sports car with an auto tranny, a much faster big brother that can be had for the same amount of money, and nobody cares how much it cost to get it over the border.

Crankwalk man. Its prone to the TURBO models. Anything over 90000 miles is a risk for paying 16 grand. And the repairs are just not cheap... :thumbsdow

Tho they do have high potential, its still a big risk to take and hard to maintain :guns:

look for starters...it's HIS car...he can ask anything he wants for it...if you dont like the price then DO NOT post...

and all this crankwalk talk...do you have actual numbers for C.W.?? or are you talking out of your ass??...Cause numbers for crankwalk are a lot lower than people really think...if a 2G guy blows his motor cause of an FP 3052 and no fuel mods...he WILL blame C.W....so please dont spout off facts you know nothing of...

and stick to selling your car...and no one will hassle you...

Legal as in registered, or legal as in you have your Form 1 and Form 2?

Form 1 and 2 are just the custom import papers.

Fully legal as in registered in Canada, passed all safety requirements (DRL, Baby Clip thing, etc) and has the registar of import vehicles approval.

The difference is, anyone can register just about any car in Alberta. It DOES NOT MAKE IT LEGAL. See the sticky about all the illegal cars here.

But to be truely legal, you need a federal inspection, be in the RIV, etc etc. Form 1 (at the border) and Form 2 (sent to your house and Federally inspected)

THAT is a legal car.

Wait till Canada Transport + RIV + the government of Canada cracks down on all these BS illegally imported cars.

Give me the VIN # of this car, I'll call up the RIV right now and see what's up with what.

So all people do is grab a car from down south, get an out of province inspection done, and then they can register it?

That also gets them out of paying GST at the border right?

This eclipse was bought here in calgary from a very well known mits. dealership. so once again it has all legal paper work done.

Dealerships aren't any better.

Southside Mitsu AND West Side in Edmonton both have illegal Eclipses (or had).

And you don't have to have a sticker in your doorjam, it's not 100% they will put one there. Gotta call the RIV with the Vin #.

If it's legal, what's the VIN #? You should have no problems posting it.

Trevor: People try and do that, sometimes they get busted at the border (GOOD!) or the Fed Transport/Gov't of Canada catches up to them eventually. That's why Eclipses are belly button cars.

I would say about 2% are legal, the rest are shit.
